Fixing a Levy on Fish

Pursuant to the Fishing Industry Board Act 1963 and the Fish Levy Regulations 1976, a notice is hereby given by the New Zealand Fishing Industry Board that:

(a) From and after the 1st day of October 1994, every wholesaler shall pay to the board a fish levy on all fish except rock lobster and paua, taken or purchased by him (otherwise than from another wholesaler) at a rate of 1.1 percent of the primary price of those fish, and

(b) From and after the 1st day of October 1994, every wholesaler shall pay to the board a fish levy on paua taken or purchased by him (otherwise than from another wholesaler) at a rate of 1.0 percent of the primary price of those paua, and

(c) From and after the 1st day of October 1994, every wholesaler shall pay to the board a fish levy on rock lobster taken or purchased by him (otherwise than from another wholesaler) at a rate of 1.5 percent of the primary price of those rock lobster, and

(d) From and after the 1st day of October 1994, the fisherman’s contribution will be at the rate of 0.367 percent of the primary price of those fish, and at the rate of 0.333 percent of the primary price of those paua, and at the rate of 0.584 percent of the primary price of those rock lobster, and

(e) From and after the 1st day of October 1994, the wholesaler’s contribution will be at a rate of 0.367 percent of the primary price of those fish, and at the rate of 0.334 percent of the primary price of those paua, and at the rate of 0.583 percent of the primary price of those rock lobster, and

(f) From and after the 1st day of October 1994 the retailer’s contribution will be at the rate of 0.366 percent of the primary price of those fish, and at the rate of 0.333 percent of the primary price of those paua and rock lobster, and

(g) Notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 28 October 1993, No. 156, page 3209, is consequently revoked.

The Electoral Main Rolls Closing Notice 1994

Pursuant to section 104 (2) (b) of the Electoral Act 1993, the Chief Registrar of Electors hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Electoral Main Rolls Closing Notice 1994.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Date for closing of main rolls—The main roll for every General electoral district and for every Maori electoral district shall close on the 14th day of October 1994.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice closes, as at 14 October 1994, the main rolls for all electoral districts and enables the main rolls to be printed and published as at that date. The rolls will then be available to the public for checking.

The Electoral Act 1993 requires that this printing of the rolls be done at least once in each year.

Insurance Companies’ Deposits Act 1953

National Mutual Fire Insurance Company Limited—Proposed Release of Deposit

National Mutual Fire Insurance Company Limited (herein called “the company”), has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has ceased to carry on business of insurance in New Zealand and that it proposes to withdraw, pursuant to section 19 of the Act, the deposit which has been made by it with the Public Trustee.

The Public Trustee therefore gives notice, pursuant to section 19 (3) of the Act, that being satisfied that all liabilities of the company in New Zealand in respect of such insurance business have been fully liquidated or provided for, proposes to release to the company on or after the 20th day of October 1994, the amount deposited with him by the company.

Any objections to the release of the amount deposited should be lodged with the District Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office, 117–129 Lambton Quay, Wellington 1, on or before the 12th day of October 1994.
