objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Rangi Aniwaniwa:
(i) To adhere to the principles, philosophies, and practices of Te Aho Matua.
(ii) To primarily serve Kohanga Reo graduates and other children who demonstrate an acceptable level of fluency in the Maori language.
(iii) To work within a total immersion school environment with trained and qualified teachers.
(iv) To ensure the transmission of the body of knowledge, values, beliefs and practices unique to Maoridom.
(v) To ensure adherence to the principles and Charter objectives.
(vi) To work in co-operation with the whanau through the board of trustees.
- Constitution of the Board of Trustees. The board of trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Rangi Aniwaniwa shall comprise:
(a) Five people appointed by the Minister;
(b) The principal, or principal designate;
(c) Not more than four persons co-opted by the board.

Pursuant to sections 146 and 155 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:
N o t i c e

This notice may be cited as Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Rawhiti Roa.

This notice shall come into force on 30 January 1995.

I hereby establish at Whangarei, a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Rawhiti Roa, and I hereby designate the school as a kura kaupapa Maori.

Aims, purposes and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Rawhiti Roa.
Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction, the following aims, purposes, and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Rawhiti Roa:
(i) To implement programmes that will promote, maintain, and revitalise te reo Maori and tikanga Maori.
(ii) To achieve successful outcomes and opportunities through education.
(iii) To work co-operatively towards achieving common goals, to show mutual respect, and to act responsibly.
(iv) To develop high levels of proficiency in all aspects of education.
(v) To incorporate Maori values into the daily life of the school.
(vi) To develop an affinity with the natural environment.
(vii) To understand the economic nature of todayβs world and to take advantage of modern technology.
- Constitution of the Board of Trustees. The board of trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Rawhiti Roa shall comprise:
(a) Five people appointed by the Minister;
(b) The principal, or principal designate;
(c) Not more than four persons co-opted by the board.

Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction, the following aims, purposes, and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Toku Mapihi Maurea:
(i) To adhere to the principles, and philosophies of Te Aho Matua.
(ii) To recognise the value of whanau involvement and to seek to embrace the local community of Tainui Waka.
(iii) To create a warm, positive, nurturing, learning environment for the whole whanau.
(iv) To provide educational programmes through Maori pedagogy which link identity, language, and knowledge within the Maori cultural context.
(v) To provide non-failure learning situations.
(vi) To provide equal access to all activities and to emphasise co-operation, tolerance, participation and enjoyment.
(vii) To recognise and allow for individual difference.
(viii) To be committed to the Treaty of Waitangi and to the spirit of dual heritage.
