objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Koutu:

(i) Ko te reo o te kura, ko tātou reo rangatira.

Maori is the language of our school.

(ii) Atawhaitia ai e te kura ia tamaiti, ia tamaiti kia puawai mai ai tona tino tangatanga me ona pumanawa katoa.

The school will provide an environment in which the humanity and talents of each child will develop.

(iii) Manaakitia ai e te kura te whānau, te hīngaro, te hauora o ia tamaiti, o ia tamaiti, kai tau pai ai o rātou ngakau kia te ako i nga tini ahuatanga o te ao.

The school will foster the spirit, the intellect and the health of each child so they may be open to learning about the world.

(iv) Ka whāia e nga tamariki nga matauranga o nehera, o te ao hurihuri hoki - o te ao Maori, o te ao whānui hoki.

The school will encourage the children to explore the realms of traditional and modern knowledge - Maori and global.

(v) Ka piri te kura ki te iwi kainga, ki a Te Arawa me te whakanui hoki i nga tini iwiitanga o a matou tamariki.

The school will hold to Te Arawatanga, while celebrating all the tribal affiliations of our children.

(vi) Ma te whanau e whakariterite i nga tikanga ake o te kura i raro i te maru o Te Aho Matua hoki.

The whanau of the school (children, parents, teachers and supporters) will be involved in all aspects of the school, guided by the principles of Te Aho Matua.

5 Constitution of the Board of Trustees. The board of trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Koutu shall comprise:

(a) Five people appointed by the Minister;

(b) The principal, or principal designate;

(c) Not more than four persons co-opted by the board.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990

Cancellation of a Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to regulation 14 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary of Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated the 1st day of July 1992, which was granted under those regulations to Mary Williams in respect of Sandbrook Kindergarten, Everitt Road, Otara, Auckland.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Columba College (Attendance Dues) Notice 1994

Pursuant to section 36 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, the Minister of Education hereby gives notice approving the charging of attendance dues at Columba College.

N o t i c e

1. This notice shall be cited as the Columba College (Attendance Dues) Notice 1994.

2. The proprietor of the above-named school may enter into an agreement with the parents or other persons accepting responsibility for the education of a child at the above-named school requiring them to pay attendance dues.

3. The attendance dues payable in respect of any pupil shall be $1,700 (inclusive of G.S.T.) per annum per pupil.

4. Attendance dues received by the proprietor shall be used for the purpose of paying for such improvements to, or for such capital works associated with, buildings and associated facilities of the above-mentioned integrated school as may be required or approved by the Minister of Education, pursuant to section 40 (2) of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, or for meeting debts, mortgages, liens, or other charges associated with any of the land and buildings that constitute the integrated schools.

Pursuant to section 167 of the Resource Management Act 1991, the Minister for the Environment, hereby gives the following notice.

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Resource Management (Approval of Meteorological Service of New Zealand Limited as Requiring Authority) Notice 1994.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the 28th day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Interpretation—In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires, “radiocommunication”, “telecommunication” and “telecommunication link” have the same meaning as in section 2 (1) of the Telecommunications Act 1987.

3. Approval as requiring authority—Meteorological Service of New Zealand Limited is hereby approved as a requiring authority for its network operation of a system comprising telecommunication links to permit telecommunication and radiocommunication.
