Life Insurance Act 1908

Proposed Release of Deposit

Norwich Union Life Assurance Society (herein called "the company"), has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has ceased to carry on the business of life insurance in New Zealand and that pursuant to section 12 of such Act, proposes to withdraw the deposit which has been made by it with the Public Trustee.

The Public Trustee therefore gives notice, pursuant to section 12 of such Act, that being satisfied that all liabilities of the company in New Zealand in respect of such insurance business have been fully assumed by Norwich Union Life Insurance (NZ) Limited, he proposes to release to the company on or after the 1st day of August 1994, the amount deposited with him by the company.

Any objections to the release of the deposit should be lodged with the District Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office, 117-125 Lambton Quay, Wellington 1, on or before the 1st day of July 1994.

Securities Amendment Act 1988

The Authorised Futures Dealers Notice 1994 (No. 7)

Pursuant to the Securities Amendment Act 1988, the Securities Commission gives the following notice.

N o t i c e

I. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as The Authorised Futures Dealers Notice 1994 (No. 7).

(2) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

II. Interpretation—(1) In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires:

"the Act" means the Securities Amendment Act 1988:

"the Exchange" means New Zealand Futures & Options Exchange Limited.

(2) Any term or expression that is not defined in this notice, but that is defined in the Act, has the meaning given to it by the Act.

III. Fixed Interest Brokers (NZ) Limited authorised to carry on business of dealing in futures contracts—(1) Fixed Interest Brokers (NZ) Limited is authorised to carry on the business of dealing in futures contracts—(a) An authorised futures exchange; or

(b) A futures exchange in a country other than New Zealand which is authorised by the laws of that country to operate as a futures exchange.

(2) The authorisation of Fixed Interest Brokers (NZ) Limited referred to in subclause (1) of this clause is subject to the condition that Fixed Interest Brokers (NZ) Limited:

(a) is a public broker within the meaning of the Rules of the Exchange, and

(b) has undertaken to the Commission to be bound by the Rules of the Exchange.

(3) The authorisation granted by subclause (1) of this clause shall continue in force until it is revoked by the Commission.

(4) The Authorised Futures Dealers Notice 1993 (No. 6) dated 27 August 1993 is revoked.

Conservation Act 1987

Notification of Disposal of Conservation Land

Pursuant to section 26 of the Conservation Act 1987, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Department of Conservation, Otago Conservancy, hereby declares that the land formerly held for conservation purposes described in the Schedule hereto, has been disposed of to Malcolm Storey Ritchie for the consideration of twelve thousand three hundred and seventy five dollars ($12,375) including goods and services tax.
