Guidelines for Consent to Export Apples and Pears

The exporting of apples and pears from New Zealand is controlled by the Apple and Pear Marketing Act 1971, with the exception of Asian pears. Only the New Zealand Apple and Pear Marketing Board, or its agents, and persons to whom the board has given its consent may export apples and pears. In 1993 an amendment to this Act was made which expressly requires the board, after 31 May 1994, to either grant or refuse its consent after having regard to relevant guidelines for the time being established and published by the board.

The New Zealand Apple and Pear Marketing Board has established and published these guidelines and if you would like a copy, please write to the Secretary, New Zealand Apple and Pear Marketing Board, P.O. Box 3328, Wellington.

Wool Industry Act 1977

Direction on Export Packaging Standards—Amendment No. 1

This amendment to the “Direction on Export Packaging Standards” is made by the New Zealand Wool Board (“the Board”) pursuant to its authority contained in section 21 (1) of the Wool Industry Act 1977.

The Board hereby directs that with effect from 30 June 1994, paragraph F of the section of the Direction entitled “Prohibition” shall be amended by revoking paragraph F and by substituting the following paragraph:

“F. The cap is not sewn with approved twine, the individual stitch length exceeds 100 mm, and/or wool is protruding from the stitched area which, in the opinion of the Inspector, is likely to contribute to contamination.”

Privacy Act Code of Practice Notice 1994/2

Pursuant to Part VI of the Privacy Act 1993, the Privacy Commissioner gives notice as follows:

Citation

  1. This notice may be cited as the Privacy Act Code of Practice Notice 1994/2.

Issues of Amendment to Code of Practice

  1. The Health Information Privacy Code 1993 (Temporary) Amendment No.2:

(a) was issued on the Commissioner’s own initiative on 27 May 1994;

(b) will come into force on 10 June 1994;

(c) will expire on 29 July 1994.

Urgent issue of amendment

  1. The Commissioner, considering that it is necessary to issue the amendment and being satisfied that it would be impracticable to follow the procedures set out in section 48 of the Act because it is necessary to issue the amendment urgently, has issued the amendment without complying with those procedures in reliance on section 52 (1) of the Act.

Availability of amendment

  1. Copies of the amendment are available for inspection free of charge at the offices of the Privacy Commissioner, 20 Waterloo Quadrant, Auckland and 44—52 The Terrace, Wellington.

  2. Copies of the amendment are available from the offices of the Privacy Commissioner and from Bennetts Bookshops Limited.
