Now therefore, pursuant to section 719 of the Local Government Act 1974, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

Order

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Invercargill City Council Review of Membership and Basis of Election (Public Notice Validation) Order 1994.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  1. Validation of public notice—The giving of the public notice referred to in the preamble to this Order is hereby validated, notwithstanding that that public notice was given both—

(a) After the time prescribed by section 101J (1) of the Local Government Act 1974; and

(b) In a form that was contrary to section 101J (2) (a) of the Local Government Act 1974.

Notice of Application for an International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to section 7 of the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, notice is hereby given that Premier Airlines Pty. Limited of Melbourne, Australia, has applied for an international air service licence to permit the company to operate a scheduled air service for the carriage of cargo and mail between New Zealand and Australia.

Further details of this proposal may be obtained from the Secretary for Transport, Ministry of Transport, P.O. Box 3175, Wellington.

Any person or organisation wishing to make representations relating to this application must forward those representations in writing to reach me on or before 6 January 1995.

Notice of Intention to Amend an International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, the State Sector Act 1988, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, David Joseph Stone, Acting General Manager Air Services, give the following notice:

Pursuant to section 14a of the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, notice is hereby given that Qantas Airways Limited has applied for amendments to its International Air Service Licence to enable the airline to operate:

(i) services on routes beyond New Zealand to not more than five (5) additional points as nominated by the Government of Australia; and

(ii) up to the equivalent of twelve (12) B747 return services per week to points beyond New Zealand.

Pursuant to the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, the State Sector Act 1988, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, David Joseph Stone, Acting General Manager Air Services, give the following notice:

Pursuant to section 14a of the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, notice is hereby given that British Airways Plc, Limited, has applied for amendments to its International Air Service Licence to enable the airline, with effect from 26 March 1995, to:

(i) operate services to and from New Zealand via the United States; and

(ii) operate services on a code-share basis with Qantas Airways.

Notice is hereby given that I intend to exercise the power conferred by section 14 of the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, to amend the terms of the International Air Service Licence issued to EVA Air to enable the airline to operate MD-11 aircraft on its services to and from New Zealand.

This amendment will take effect from 29 December 1994.
