Declaration of State of Local Civil Defence Emergency

Pursuant to section 52 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Patrick O’Dea, hereby declare a state of local civil defence emergency to be in force in the Buller District.

The state of local civil defence emergency shall come into force on the time and date of the making of this declaration.

Time and Date of Declaration: 2115 hours, 21 November 1994.

Declaration Terminating State of Local Civil Defence Emergency

Pursuant to section 56 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Christopher John Coll, hereby terminate the state of local civil defence emergency declared in respect of the Buller District on 21 November 1994.

The termination shall take effect from the time and date of the making of this declaration.

to be a member of the Local Government Commission for a term commencing on 5 December 1994 and ending on 31 March 1996.

Corrigendum

In the Local Government (Hawke’s Bay and Manawatu-Wanganui Region) Reorganisation Amendment Order 1994, published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 124 on 24 November 1994 at page 3654:

(a) Insert after clause 3 (1) the following subclause:

“(2) The area defined in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to form part of the Norsewood Ward of the Tararua District, as constituted by clause 38 of the Order, and as delineated on S.O. Plan No. 36020.”

(b) In the Schedule:

(i) for “Takapua” read “Takapau”;

(ii) for “Deposited Plan 2161” read “Deposited Plan 2162”.

The Invercargill City Council Review of Membership and Basis of Election (Public Notice Validation) Order 1994

At Wellington this 5th day of December 1994

Present:

THE HON. DOUG KIDD PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

Whereas—

(a) Section 101H (1) of the Local Government Act 1974 (as substituted by section 6 of the Local Government Amendment Act 1991) requires every territorial authority to determine by resolution, in the year immediately preceding any year in which a triennial general election is to be held, the membership and the basis of election of the council;

(b) Section 101I (1) of the Local Government Act 1974 (as substituted by section 7 of the Local Government Amendment Act 1991) provides that a council shall, within 14 days after making a resolution under section 101H of that Act, but not in any case later than the 8th day of September in the year immediately preceding the year of the triennial general election, give public notice of the proposals contained in the resolution; and

(c) The public notice given by the Invercargill City Council under section 101I of the Local Government Act 1974 in the year 1994—

(i) Was given on the 14th day of September 1994 (which was after the time prescribed by section 101I (1) of the Local Government Act 1974); and

(ii) Specified, as the closing date for the lodging of written objections to the proposals contained in the resolution, the 9th day of October 1994 (a date which, contrary to section 101J (2) (a) of the Local Government Act 1974, was earlier than one month after the date of the publication of the public notice); and

(d) It is desirable to validate the giving of that public notice;
