Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to regulation 14 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary of Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 4 November 1992 which was granted under those regulations to Angela McRae in respect of Te Puke Playcentre, Stewart Street, Te Puke. This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

Classification of Medicines

Pursuant to section 106 (1) of the Medicines Act 1981, the Minister of Health hereby declares the medicines listed in Schedules one, three and four to this notice to have the classifications Prescription Medicine, Pharmacy-Only Medicine and General Sale Medicine respectively.

First Schedule

Prescription Medicine

Dirithromycin.

Enoximone.

Lenograstim.

Lignocaine; and its salts; for parenteral use except when used by a registered nurse, dental nurse or podiatrist for use in their practice; and for internal use by ingestion other than throat lozenges; and for use in the eye except when used by a registered optometrist for use in his practice as an optometrist.

Lithium succinate.

Loracarbef.

Risperidone.

Venlafaxine.

Third Schedule

Pharmacy-Only Medicine

Benzyl benzoate; in medicines containing more than 2.5% of benzyl benzoate.

Dimenhydrinate; and its salts; except in a sealed container of not more than 12 solid dose form units labelled for the prevention of travel sickness and sold at a transport terminal or aboard a ship or plane.

Meclozine; and its salts; except in a sealed container of not more than 12 solid dose form units labelled for the prevention of travel sickness and sold at a transport terminal or aboard a ship or plane.

Promethazine; and its salts; except promethazine theoclate in a sealed container of not more than 12 solid dose form units labelled for the prevention of travel sickness and sold at a transport terminal or aboard a ship or plane.

Extension of District Court Judges’ Jurisdiction

Pursuant to section 28B of the District Courts Act 1947, Her Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint Anne-Marie Josephine Bouchier, and John Patrick Clapham to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947.

Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992

Notice of Intention to Apply for Ministerial Approval of a Code of Practice Under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992—Safe Use of Isocyanates

Pursuant to section 20 of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, I, Keith Lyle McLea, Acting General Manager, Occupational Safety and Health Service of the Department of Labour, in exercise of those powers delegated to me by the Secretary of Labour, pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, hereby give notice of my intention, to apply to the Minister of Labour for his approval of a statement of preferred work practices or arrangements for health and safety in the use of Isocyanates in foaming and spray coating processes, which will become an “Approved Code of Practice”, under the Act.

These preferred work practices or arrangements are designed to describe the processes used in foaming and spray coating, the health and safety hazards involved, including dealing with spillage’s and suitable prevention practices and arrangements for the protection of employees and other’s health and safety.
