Education Act 1989

Boards of Trustees Responsibilities Under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992

Pursuant to section 70 of the Education Act 1989, the Secretary of Education gives notice to all boards of trustees occupying land and buildings owned by the Crown that the following terms and conditions should apply as supplementary terms and conditions in the property occupancy documents:

(a) That any:

(i) improvement notice or prohibition notice received by the board from the Department of Labour pursuant to the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992; and or

(ii) health or safety incident that could give rise to an offence in terms of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992;

shall be reported to the Ministry of Education immediately.

(b) The Ministry of Education shall offer indemnity for monetary penalties to boards subject to the following conditions:

(i) that boards observe the requirements in paragraph (a) above; and

(ii) that all reasonable steps have been taken to mitigate any risk of danger or hazard in the place of work.

This notice shall take effect from 1 April 1993.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to regulation 14 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary of Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 1 March 1992 which was granted under those regulations to Esme Dawson in respect of Taupo Educational Pre School Trust, Early Intervention Group, 35 Tawa Street, Taupo. This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to regulation 14 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary of Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 1 July 1992 which was granted under those regulations to Patricia Bolstad on behalf of Wahi Reka Te Kohanga Reo, corner of Clyde and Johnson Streets, Masterton.

Wahi Reka Te Kohanga Reo is re-established as a licensed childcare centre as of 8 March 1993 at premises sited at 13A River Road, Masterton.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
