Local Government Act 1974

Tauranga District Boundary Alteration Notice 1993

Pursuant to section 37P (2) of the Local Government Act 1974, the Minister of Local Government gives the following notice:

N o t i c e

1. This notice may be cited as the Tauranga District Boundary Alteration Notice 1993.

2. This notice shall come into force on the 28th day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

3. (1) Subject to subclause (3) of this clause, the boundaries of the Tauranga District, adjacent to the ocean, are hereby altered to include the area of land between the mean high-water mark and the mean low-water mark.

(2) For the purposes of subclause (1) of this clause, wherever the boundary of the Tauranga District meets the boundary of the Western Bay of Plenty District at the mean high-water mark, the boundary of the Tauranga District shall extend along a line commencing at that point and running at 90 degrees to the mean high-water mark to the point where it meets the mean low-water mark.

(3) Nothing in this notice shall have the effect of excluding from the Tauranga District any land included in that district prior to this notice coming into force.

Pursuant to section 43A (3) of the Electoral Act 1956 (as substituted by section 7 (2) of the Electoral Amendment Act 1985), the Minister of Justice hereby gives the following notice:

N o t i c e

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Electoral Rolls (Revision) Notice 1993.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

2. Period for revision of electoral rolls—During the period beginning on the 15th day of April 1993 and ending with the close of the 18th day of June 1993, every Registrar shall, pursuant to section 43A (1) of the Electoral Act 1956, direct an inquiry to be made concerning the particulars of all persons whose names are on the roll for the district.
