the Governor for the time being of the Dependency were thereby vested in him:

And whereas the Governor was thereby further authorised and empowered to make all such rules and regulations as might lawfully be made by Her Majesty’s authority for the peace, order, and good government of the Dependency:

And whereas, by regulations made by the Governor on the 14th day of November 1923†, it was enacted that all persons appointed by the Governor for the time being of the Dependency should have such power and authority as might be granted them in due course of law, and might be empowered to do such things as might be necessary or desirable to ensure that the laws in force in the Dependency are duly observed and complied with in every respect, and to do all things necessary or expedient for the peace, order, and good government of the Dependency, and to safeguard and preserve Her Majesty’s rights and sovereignty over and in respect of the Dependency:

And whereas it is expedient that the persons hereinafter named be appointed officers of the Government of the Dependency:

Now, therefore, I, Dame Catherine Anne Tizard, the Governor-General of New Zealand, and as such the Governor of the Ross Dependency, hereby appoint

Gillian Shirley Wright

to be an officer of the Government of the Dependency while she acts as Senior New Zealand Representative at Scott Base during the period beginning with the 8th day of February 1993 and ending with the close of the 31st day of January 1996:

And I hereby confer on the said Gillian Shirley Wright while she holds office all the powers and authorities that may be exercised in New Zealand by a Justice of the Peace, and also the powers and authorities that may be so exercised by a Coroner:

And I also hereby appoint

David Eric Geddes

to be an officer of the Government of the Dependency while he acts as Senior New Zealand Representative at Scott Base during the period beginning with the 8th day of February 1993 and ending with the close of the 31st day of January 1996:

And I hereby confer on the said David Eric Geddes while he holds office all the powers and authorities that may be exercised in New Zealand by a Justice of the Peace, and also the powers and authorities that may be so exercised by a Coroner:

And I also hereby appoint

Malcolm John Macfarlane

to be an officer of the Government of the Dependency while he acts as Senior New Zealand Representative at Scott Base during the period beginning with the 8th day of February 1993 and ending with the close of the 31st day of January 1996:

And I hereby confer on the said Malcolm John Macfarlane while he holds office all the powers and authorities that may be exercised in New Zealand by a Justice of the Peace, and also the powers and authorities that may be so exercised by a Coroner:

And I also hereby appoint

Roger Dougal Moffat

to be an officer of the Government of the Dependency for the period beginning with the 8th day of February 1993 and ending with the close of the 31st day of January 1994 or such earlier date as he shall leave the Dependency:

And I hereby confer on the said Roger Dougal Moffat while he holds office all the powers and authorities that may be exercised in New Zealand by a Justice of the Peace, and also

all the powers and authorities that may be so exercised by a Coroner:

The said Gillian Shirley Wright, David Eric Geddes, Malcolm John Macfarlane, and Roger Dougal Moffat to exercise their functions at such places within the Dependency as may be directed by the officer for the time being appointed as an officer of the Government of the Dependency in whom is vested the general executive and administrative authority in preserving Her Majesty’s rights and sovereignty and the laws and regulations in force in the Dependency.

As witness the hand of Her Excellency the Governor-General as the Governor of the Ross Dependency, this 7th day of February 1993.

Approval of Persons Authorised to Perform Vaccination Against Tuberculosis

Pursuant to regulation 6 (4) of the Tuberculosis Regulations 1951, the Director-General of Health hereby gives notice that the following persons, additional to those listed in the Gazette dated the 10th day of October 1991, No. 153, at page 3223, have been approved as qualified to perform vaccinations against tuberculosis in accordance with those regulations.
