Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986

Approval of Defensive Driving Courses

Pursuant to section 48 (2) (a) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, and pursuant to section 39A of the Transport Act 1962, under powers delegated to me by the Acting Secretary Director of Land Transport Safety in an instrument of delegation dated the 20th day of August 1993; I, Warren Richard Gillespie Simeon, Manager, Road User Standards, hereby approve the following organisations for the purposes of section 68 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulations 11 (1) (b) (i) and 32 (2) of the Transport (Drivers Licensing) Regulations 1987:

Mid Central Health Defensive Driving Course, Palmerston North.

Road Transport Education Defensive Driving Course, Auckland.

Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Approval of Alternative Vehicle Standards

Pursuant to regulation 6 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and in exercise of powers delegated to me, pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby determine, approve, or prescribe those standards determined, approved, or prescribed, pursuant to the Traffic Regulations 1976, as alternative standards for the purposes of the said Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, in respect of the items specified in the Schedule hereto for vehicles of the classes thereby specified, for the period 1 January 1995 to 31 December 1995 inclusive.

Approval of Alternative Vehicle Standards

Schedule

Vehicles of classes MB, MC or NA for which the manufacturer's brake standards have not been affected by any modification.

Exemption From the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and in exercise of powers delegated to me, pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby exempt vehicles of classes TA and TB from the provisions of the said Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, for the period 1 January 1995 to 31 December 1995 inclusive.
