  1. Open Season—Clause 3 of the principal notice is amended by deleting from subclause 3 (b) the words “Lake Mangamahoe” and substituting the words “Lake Mangamahoe, excluding the Waiwhakaiho inlet;”

  2. Baits and Lures—Clause 5 of the principal notice is amended by deleting from subclause (3) the words “Lake Mangamahoe” and substituting the words “Lake Mangamahoe (including the Waiwhakaiho inlet as marked by the signs).”

District Anglers (Nelson/Marlborough Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990, Amendment No. 3

Pursuant to section 26R (3) of the Conservation Act 1987 (as amended by section 17 of the Conservation Law Reform Act 1990), the Nelson/Marlborough Fish and Game Council amends the District Anglers (Nelson/Marlborough Fish & Game Region) Notice 1990, supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 1990, No. 151, page 3211–3213.

  1. Title and Commencement—(1) This amending notice may be cited as the District Anglers (Nelson/Marlborough Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990, Amendment No. 3, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the District Anglers (Nelson/Marlborough Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal notice”).

(2) This amending notice shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1993.

  1. Open Season—(1) Clause 3 (2) of the principal notice is amended by repealing paragraphs 3 (2) (g), 3 (2) (h) and 3 (2) (u).

(2) Clause 3 (2) of the principal notice is further amended by inserting the following two paragraphs:

(g) Lake Argyle and the Branch Power canal below the lake downstream to its confluence with the Wairau River;

(h) An area of 500 metres radius from the mouth of all streams flowing into Queen Charlotte Sound.

  1. Closed Season—(1) Clause 4 (4) of the principal notice (as amended by clause 3 of Amendment No. 1) is repealed.

  2. Authorised Lures and Baits—(1) Clause 6 (2) (k) of the principal notice is amended by deleting the words “State Highway No. 1” and substituting “the Wash Bridge”.

  3. Daily Limit Bag—(1) Clause 9 (2) (k) of the principal notice is repealed.

(2) Clause 9 of the principal notice is amended by inserting the following sub-clause:

“(5) A licence holder shall not on any day take or have in possession more than one (1) sports fish from the following waters (including their tributaries):

(a) Riwaka River.”

  1. Revocation—(1) Clause 11 of the principal notice is renumbered as clause 12.

  2. New clause inserted—(1) The following clause is inserted as clause 11:

“11. Maximum Size to be Taken—(1) A licence holder taking any sports fish, which exceeds 40 centimetres in length, from the following waters, shall immediately return it with as little injury as possible into the water from which it was taken:

(a) Riwaka River.

District Anglers (North Canterbury Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990, Amendment No. 4

Pursuant to section 26R (3) of the Conservation Act 1987 (as amended by section 17 of the Conservation Law Reform Act 1990), the North Canterbury Fish and Game Council amends the District Anglers (North Canterbury Fish & Game Region) Notice 1990, supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 1990, No. 151, pages 3213–3215.

  1. Title and Commencement—(1) This amending notice may be cited as the District Anglers (North Canterbury Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990, Amendment No. 4, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the District Anglers (North Canterbury Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal notice”).

(2) This amending notice shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1993.

  1. Interpretation—(1) Clause 2 of the principal notice is amended by adding the following subclause (3):

“2 (3) “Taking” means fishing, and “takes” and “to take” have a corresponding meaning.

  1. Open Season—(1) Clause 3 (2) of the principal notice is amended by adding the following paragraph 3 (2) (i):

“3 (2) (i) At sea off the Tentburn Hatchery outside 100 metres from the Hatchery outfall.

(2) Clause 3 (3) of the principal notice is amended by inserting after “4 (1) (e)” and before “of this notice”, the expression ‘clause 4 (3)’.

  1. Closed Season—(1) Paragraphs (a), (b), (c) and (d) of subclause (1) of clause 4 of the principal notice are repealed and substituted with the following:

(a) From the 1st day of October 1993 and ending on Friday 5th day of November 1993 (both days inclusive) in any high country waters;

(b) From midnight on Friday 5th day of November 1993 until midnight on the 30th day of November 1993 (both days inclusive) in any natural or artificial stream and tributary flowing into any high country lake.

(c) From the 1st day of March to the 30th day of April in the same year (both days inclusive) in the Rakaia River and its tributaries above the Lake Coleridge powerhouse, that point more particularly shown by white posts on the South bank in general line with the powerhouse intake pipes on the North bank, or in any tributary flowing into the Lake Coleridge, whether artificial or natural, provided that this subclause shall not apply to any lakes draining into the Rakaia River above the point specified.’

(d) From the 1st day of October in any year to the 30th day of September in the following year (both days inclusive) in Taylor’s Drain from its source to its junction with the Wairarapa Stream; in the Avon River from the Armagh Street bridge at Hagley Park to the Barbadoes Street bridge; in Lake Marion; and in the Avon River and its tributaries entering it above Armagh Street bridge for senior (adult) licence holders only.

(2) Clause 4 (1) of the principal notice is further amended by adding a new paragraph 4 (1) (f):

“(f) From the 1st day of February to the last day of February in the same year (both days inclusive) in the Glenariffe Stream upstream from points marked and signposted, which are located 160 metres downstream
