Notice

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Whanganui River) Notice 1993.

(b) This notice shall come into force 14 days after the publication in the New Zealand Gazette and shall remain in force until revoked by further notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, regulations 7(1)(a), 7(1)(b) and 7(2) of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979, shall not apply to the area specified in the First Schedule.

First Schedule

All the waters of the Whanganui River from the downstream end of Whakapapa Island, and downstream of the boatramp on the Retaruke River and downstream of the State Highway 4 road bridge across the Ongarue River at Taumarunui to the Whanganui River upstream of a line across the river bearing 134° true from the southern corner of the Raorikia Maori Reserve.

Second Schedule

  1. Notwithstanding any other provision of this notice, no person who is permitted by any such provision to propel or navigate a small craft at a speed through the water exceeding 5 knots shall do so in any manner that is likely to endanger or unduly annoy any person who is, in, on, or using the waters or fishing, or undertaking any recreational activity in the vicinity of the small craft. Such restriction shall not apply during periods of navigating rapids or navigating hazards on the waters described in the First Schedule.

  2. All persons in charge of a vessel shall adhere to and keep the provisions of all Acts and regulations not specifically exempted by this notice.

  3. A suitable notice as may be approved by the Senior Advisory Officer (Harbours Management), Wellington, shall be erected at the sites deemed necessary by the Senior Advisory Officer (Harbours Management).

Notification of Ordinary Rules

Pursuant to section 34 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of the ordinary rules set out in the Schedule hereto, which rules shall come into force on the 7th day of October 1993.

Schedule

Civil Aviation Rules Part 1, Amendment No. 1: Definitions and Abbreviations.

Civil Aviation Rules Part 145, Amendment No. 1: Certification—Aircraft Maintenance Organisations.

These ordinary rules are available for inspection and purchase at the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, 1 Market Grove (P.O. Box 31-441), Lower Hutt 6315.

District Anglers (Auckland/Waikato Fish and Game Region) Notice 1992 Amendment No. 1

Pursuant to section 26R(3) of the Conservation Act 1987 (as amended by section 17 of the Conservation Law Reform Act 1990), the Auckland/Waikato Fish and Game Council amends the District Anglers (Auckland/Waikato Fish & Game Region) Notice 1992 supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 1992, No. 136, pages 2912–2193.

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the District Anglers (Auckland/Waikato Fish and Game Region) Notice 1992 Amendment Number 1 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the District Anglers (Auckland/Waikato Fish and Game Region) Notice 1992.

(2) This amending notice shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1993.

  1. Lures and baits—(1) Clause 6(2) of the principal notice is amended by adding the following paragraphs—

(vii) Pokaiwhenua Stream

(viii) Waihou River above road bridge on SH5

(ix) Waimakiriri Stream above road bridge on SH5.

  1. Title and Commencement—(1) This amending notice may be cited as the District Anglers (Taranaki Fish and Game Region) Notice 1991, Amendment No. 2, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the District Anglers (Taranaki Fish and Game Region) Notice 1991 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal notice”).
