Pursuant to Section 197 of the Shipping and Seamen Act 1952
The Minister of Transport hereby amends:
The Shipping (Liferafts) Notice 1989
In the notice with the above heading published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 31st day of October 1989, No. 190, at page 5340, amend:
-
Clause 8 (1) (c) by deleting the reference to clause "(2) (1)" in line 2 and substituting "2 (7)".

Clause 15 (1) by deleting the reference to "18" in line 2 and substituting "19".

Clause 15 (2) by deleting the reference to "clause 1" in line 1 and substituting “sub-clause (1) of this clause”.

Clause 16 (1) by deleting the whole of that clause and substituting the following:
“16. Equipment for Liferafts on Coastal Ships—
(1) Liferafts carried on ships of Classes II, III, VIII and X (Coastal) shall be provided with the equipment specified in clauses 15 (1) (a) to 15 (1) (f) inclusive, 15 (1) (h), 15 (1) (i), 15 (1) (m) to 15 (1) (p) inclusive and 1/2 of the equipment specified in clauses 15 (1) (j) to 15 (1) (l) inclusive.” -
Clause 16 (2) by deleting the reference to “Clause 2 (1)” and substituting the “sub-clause (1) of this clause”.

Clause 17 (1) by deleting the whole of that clause and substituting the following:
“17. Equipment for Liferafts on Restricted-Limit Ships—
(1) Liferafts carried on board ships of Classes IV, V VI, IX and X (Inshore) shall be provided with the equipment specified in clauses 15 (1) (a) to 15 (1) (d) inclusive, 15 (1) (f), 15 (1) (i), 15 (1) (m), 15 (1) (p), 15 (1) (u) to 15 (1) (w) inclusive and 1/2 of the equipment specified in clauses 15 (1) (e) and 15 (1) (k).” -
Clause 19 (2) by deleting the reference to “sub-clause (1) (b) of this clause” and substituting “Clause 15 (1) (b)”.

Traffic Regulations 1976
Approval of Red Reflex Reflectors
Pursuant to regulation 88, subclause (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and in exercise of powers delegated to me, pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby approve, for the purposes of regulation 62 (2), (3), (4) and (5) of the said regulations, red reflex reflectors as specified in the Schedule below.
Schedule
Red reflex reflectors part number 2915, manufactured by Hella, and red reflex reflectors incorporated in stop lamp part number 2319, manufactured by Hella, both of which bear the name Hella within the Hella logo.
Note: Both part numbers listed in the Schedule above comply with the relevant standard in the Second Schedule of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990.
