permission shall be in writing and that document shall accompany animals being moved instead of the owner’s statement.

NOTE: Any Inspector may seize any animal that is moved in contravention of this restriction and may require it to be returned to the property of origin or any other place the Chief Veterinary Officer may designate; and no compensation shall be payable in respect thereof.

All costs and expenses of and attendant upon any such seizure, returning or re-direction shall be borne by the owner thereof and shall be recoverable from him/her as a debt due to the Crown.

Reason for this Notice

To enable buyers or occupiers of the place of receipt to be informed as to the status of the herd of origin of the animals and, to reduce the risk of tuberculosis being spread to other herds or areas by movement of domestic stock.

This Notice revokes and replaces Notice No. 5177 Area Movement Control: Tuberculosis, published in Gazette, No. 154 at page 3202 on the 24th day of September 1992.

Designated Areas

The following designated areas are established:

The South Kaipara Designated Area

All land on the South Kaipara peninsular north and west of a line from the west coast at Muriwai Beach township along Muriwai Beach Road to the Kaipara River at Waimauku. Along the western bank of the Kaipara River in a northerly direction to the Kaipara Harbour.

The Central North Island Designated Area

The ‘Designated Area’ is all that land encompassed by the following peripheral line:

From the outlet of the Waikato River at Lake Taupo north along State Highway One to the Atiamuri Bridge. From Atiamuri Bridge along the western bank of the Waikato River to the Waipapa Dam. From the Waipapa Dam north on the Waipapa Road to Huka Falls Road. Along Huka Falls Road to Aratiatia Road, along Aratiatia Road north to Wharepapa Road. Following Wharepapa Road west to Panetapu and from Panetapu south along Bailey Road onto Hingai Road south to Wharepuhunga Road. West along Wharepuhunga Road to the junction with Mangatutu Road. South west down Mangatutu Road to junction with Paehuenua East Road. South along Paehuenua Road continuing on along Chindie Road to junction with Tauraroa Road. West along Tauraroa Road to Toa Bridge. From Toa Bridge North along Walpa River to NZMS 1 Grid Reference N74 81659490 3rd Edition 1974, from there in a straight line south to the Road junction of Walpa River Road and Barber Road. South along Barber Road, continuing as Rangitoto Road to the Rangitoto Road Block East Road intersection and then in a straight line to NZMS 1 Grid Reference N83 74206870 2nd Edition 1982, from there along State Highway 30 to its junction with Waimihia Mangapuha Road onto Waimihia Ongarue Road to its junction with State Highway 4 to Taumarunui. (The Movement Control Area will also include all the farm properties that are adjacent on the western side of the line from Mangapehi to Taumarunui on the Waimihia Road—State Highway 4 section of the line).

From Taumarunui west along River Road to junction with Saddle Road. From there in a straight line South East to the Whanganui River. Then following eastern most bank of the Whanganui River south to Pipiriki. From Pipiriki east along the Pipiriki Raetihi Road to the Raetihi junction of State Highway 4 and State Highway 49. Then moves south down State Highway 4 to the junction with Oruakukura Road east along Oruakukura Road to INFOMAP 262.6 Grid Reference 71761870 2nd Edition 1987, from there in a straight line south south west to Trig 778 (see INFOMAP 262.2 Grid Square 7118) from there in a straight line south to NZMS 1 Grid Reference N131 715230 (on Field Tracks Road) 1st Edition 1969 from there along Fields Track Road eastward to Colliers Bridge then continues North along the Whangaeehu River to its junction with SH49, east along SH49 to its junction with SH1 then south along SH1 through Waiouru till the junction of SH1 with Te Moehau Road. East along Te Moehau Road to its junction with Moawhangi Road. From that junction east to NZMS 1 N132 Grid Reference 370297 1st Edition 1970. From there east to NZMS 260 Grid Reference 669763 T21 1st Edition. (S bend on short road). From there east to NZMS 260 T21 Grid Reference 678765 1st Edition (on Mangaohao Stream). From there east down the northern bank of the Mangaohao Stream to its junction with the Rangitikei River then following the east bank of the Rangitikei River South to its junction with the Whakaurekou River. From there east in a straight line to Trig 4334 (Potaka) then north north east in a straight line to Trig 1089 then in a straight line to its junction with the Ngaruroro River. From that junction follow the west bank of the Ngaruroro River north to NZMS 1 N113 Grid Reference 638813 3rd Edition in 1981. From there north west to Trig 4513 (Pikiawatea) from there in a straight line to Mission Pt on Lake Taupo. From there north along the eastern shore of Lake Taupo to the Waikato River outlet.

The South East North Island Designated Area

The ‘Designated Area’ is all that land encompassed by the following peripheral line:

From the Akitio River mouth along the Akitio River Road to Huiarau. From Huiarau in a southwesterly direction to the end of Settlement Road at Pinelands. South west along Settlement Road to Coast Road. South along Coast Road to Crosshills. From Crosshills along the southern boundary of Crosshills Station to Waihoki. West along Huia Road to State Highway 52 and then in a north east direction along State Highway 52 to its junction with Rimu Road. North west along Rimu Road to the Rimu Road/Pahiatua Road junction and then in a south westerly direction to Pukeko Road at position 40 degrees 37 minutes south, 176 degrees 01 minute east. North west along Pukeko Road to Nikau and then in a direct line north west to the end of Ridge Road. From the end of Ridge Road east to Kaitawa Creek at position 40 degrees 33 minutes 30 seconds south, 175 degrees 56 minutes east. Downstream along the eastern bank of Kaitawa to its junction with Te Auapara Road. North west along Te Auapara Road to Kaitawa. South west from Kaitawa in a direct line to the end of Rock Road and then south west in a direct line to Rongamai. From Rongamai, south west along the Mangaone Valley Road to Central Mangaone Road. North west along Central Mangaone Road to State Highway 2. South along State Highway 2 to North Road and then west along North Road to its junction with Nireaha-Hukanui Road. From this junction north west in a direct line to Kakariki, then west north west in a direct line to the Opp/W Trig. From the Opp/W Trig in a general south westerly direction following the boundary of the Tararua Forest Park to Featherson. From Featherson to Pakuratahi Forks at Kaitoke following the boundary of the Tararua Forest Park. From Pakuratahi Forks north west in a direct line to Saddle Trig (Akatarawa Saddle). From Saddle Trig west in a direct line to the Maungakotukutuku Trig then following the Wharemaku Stream downstream to the Coast at Raumati beach south along the coast to Plimmerton. From Plimmerton south east following the Plimmerton-Pauatahanui Road to Pauatahanui. From Pauatahanui south east following the Pauatahanui-Haywards Road to Hutt Road at Haywards. South along the Hutt Road to the Petone foreshore. From the Petone foreshore following the coastline to Pencarrow Head, to Turakirae Head, to Cape Palliser, to Castlepoint to the Akitio River Mouth.
