Notice of Indemnity Given Pursuant to Section 59 (2) of the Public Finance Act 1989—“Old and New Zealand”—National Art Gallery
Pursuant to section 59 (2) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:
On, or about the 11th day of February 1992, I, Ruth Margaret Richardson, Minister of Finance, gave an indemnity, pursuant to section 59 (1) of the Public Finance Act 1989, to the Board of Trustees of the National Museum and the National War Memorial in respect of the exhibition “Old and New Zealand” scheduled to be for public exhibition at the National Art Gallery from the 29th day of February 1992 to the 29th day of March 1992.

Proposed Recommendation for Regulations
Pursuant to section 48 (4) of the Building Act 1991, notice is hereby given that the Building Industry Authority intends to make a recommendation for the making of regulations.
The recommendation relates to the making of proposed regulations that will:
(a) Include a building code, to be known as the New Zealand Building Code, prescribing the functional requirements for buildings and the performance criteria with which buildings must comply in their intended use.
(b) Prescribe forms for applications to be made under the Building Act 1991, for project information memoranda, building consents, and approvals as building certifiers.
(c) Prescribe forms for the issuing under the Building Act 1991, of project information memoranda, building consents, inspection reports by building certifiers, building certificates, notices to rectify building work, advice of completion of building work, code compliance certificates, compliance schedules, building warrants of fitness, building maintenance notices to alter buildings.
(d) Prescribe periods within which a territorial authority is required to issue project information memoranda if it is satisfied that it has received all information required from the applicant.
(e) Prescribe periods within which a territorial authority is required to grant or refuse applications for building consents.
(f) Prescribe the notice to be given to territorial authorities that items of building work are ready for inspection.
(g) Provide for the cases in which certain civil proceedings cannot be brought against building certifiers by reason of their unavailability.
(h) Prescribe the basis on which the Building Industry Authority shall fix its charges under section 23 of the Building Act 1991.
(i) Prescribe information that is to be deemed to be relevant for the purposes of section 27 (1) of the Building Act 1991.
(j) Prescribe transitional provisions in respect of existing buildings for which compliance schedules are to be issued.
(k) Revoke the following regulations:
The Housing Improvement Regulations 1947.
The Drainage and Plumbing Regulations 1978.
(l) Amend the following regulations:
The Health (Burial) Regulations 1946.
The Lead Process Regulations 1950.
The Electroplating Regulations 1950.
The Abrasive Blasting Regulations 1958.
The Water Supplies Protection Regulations 1961.
The Spray Coating Regulations 1962.
The Agricultural Workers Accommodation Regulations 1963.
The Shearers Regulations 1963.
The Meat Regulations 1969.
The Food Hygiene Regulations 1974.
The Game Regulations 1975.
The Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976.
The Fish (Packing for Export) Regulations 1977.
The Poultry Processing Regulations 1978.
The Dangerous Goods (Class 2 - Gases) Regulations 1980.
The Health (Hairdressers) Regulations 1980.
The Animal Remedies Regulations 1980.
The Earthquake and War Damage Regulations 1984.
The Electrical Supply Regulations 1984.
The Gas Industry Regulations 1984.
The Dangerous Goods (Class 4 - Flammable Solids or Substances and Class 5 - Oxidising Substances) Regulations 1985.
The Dangerous Goods (Class 3 - Flammable Liquids) Regulations 1985.
The Camping-Ground Regulations 1985.
The Old People’s Homes Regulations 1987.
The Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990.
The Dairy Industry Regulations 1990.
A copy of the proposed regulations may be inspected at the offices of the authority, Sixth Floor, Enterprise House, 3-9 Church Street, Wellington.
