Electricity Act 1968
Notice of Intention to Seek Ministerial Approval for NZECP:50 1992
Notice is hereby given that I, Peter John Morfee, Chief Electrical Inspector, acting pursuant to section 24c (2) of the Electricity Act 1968 (as inserted by section 6 of the Electricity Amendment Act 1983) and under delegated authority from the Secretary of Commerce, intend to apply, 28 days from the date of publication of this notice, to the Minister of Energy for approval of the Electrical Code of Practice for Safety Where the Repair and Maintenance of Domestic Electrical Appliances and Connections is Being Undertaken, which code shall bear the reference “NZECP50:1992”.
Draft copies of the Electrical Code of Practice may be obtained by writing to “NZECP 50 draft for comment”, care of the Chief Electrical Inspector’s Office, Energy and Resources Division, Ministry of Commerce, P.O. Box 2337, Wellington.

Radiocommunications Act 1989
Statement of Government Policy and Directions to the Secretary of Commerce
To the Secretary of Commerce
I, Maurice Donald Williamson, Minister of Communications, acting pursuant to section 112 of the Radiocommunications Act 1989 (“the Act”), and pursuant to the policies of Government communicated to you in the Statement of Government Policy and Directions to the Secretary of Commerce dated 30 November 1990 and published in the Gazette of 6 December 1990 at page 4581, hereby amend my directions to you set out in that notice by revoking paragraph (b) of those directions and substituting the following paragraph:
(i) You shall not grant new radio apparatus licences for UHF television broadcasting services except where the granting of such licences is necessary for the purposes of—
(ii) Maintaining the services provided by existing licensees in relation to those frequencies; or
(iii) The implementation of new television broadcasting services, the primary objective of which is the promotion of Maori language and culture, where transmissions of such services are licensed for no more than 3 months, provided that such licences may be renewed for subsequent periods not exceeding 3 months until such time as a record of management rights in relation to that frequency is recorded under the Act; or
(iv) The implementation of new television broadcasting services undertaken otherwise than for profit.
(v) Establishing translators for the service known as TV3 at Paeroa range, Ngarara, Porirua and Towai.

Mental Health Act 1969
Declaration of Psychiatric Hospital at Middlemore Hospital Auckland
Pursuant to section 6 of the Mental Health Act 1969, the Minister of Health declares the building described in the Schedule hereto, to be a psychiatric hospital for the purposes of the Mental Health Act.
Schedule
The Geriatric Assessment Unit, on the ground floor at the east end of the hospital, next to Ward 23, and adjoined to the main geriatric assessment and rehabilitation block.
