Extension of District Court Judges’ Jurisdiction

Pursuant to section 28B of the District Courts Act 1947, Her Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Thomas Murray Abbott

to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947.

Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Approval of Alternative Vehicle Standards

Pursuant to regulation 6 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby prescribe those standards determined, approved, or prescribed pursuant to the Traffic Regulations 1976 as alternative standards for the purposes of the said Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, in respect of the items specified in the Schedule hereto for vehicles of the classes thereby specified, for the period 1 January 1993 to 31 December 1994 inclusive.

Approval of Alternative Vehicle Standards

Pursuant to regulation 6 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby prescribe those standards determined, approved, or prescribed pursuant to the Traffic Regulations 1976 as alternative standards for the purposes of the said Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, in respect of the item contained in the Schedule below for vehicles as specified of the classes listed, for the period 1 January 1993 to 31 December 1994 inclusive.

Schedule

Specified Vehicles are defined as those vehicles for which the manufacturer’s brake standards have not been affected by any vehicle modification.

Approval of Course in Map Reading

Pursuant to section 48 (2) (a) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986; and pursuant to a delegation given by the Secretary for Transport in an instrument, dated the 1st day of October 1991; I, Warren Gillespie Simeon, Controller Road User Standards, hereby approve the following organisation to conduct a course in map reading for the purposes of Regulation 11 (1) (c) of the Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulations 1987:
