Area 5:
Cape Koamaru to Clarence Point
All New Zealand fisheries waters enclosed by a line commencing at Cape Koamaru on the north coast of the South Island (at 41° 05.5' S and 174° 23' E); then proceeding in a south-easterly direction to the eastern most point of Brothers Island at 41° 06.2' S and 174° 26.5' E; then proceeding in a south-easterly direction to a point 42° 10' S and 174° 42' E: then proceeding due west along latitude 42° 10' S to Clarence Point on the east coast of the South Island (at 42° 10' S and 173° 56' E); then proceeding in a generally north-easterly direction along the mean high-water mark to West Head at 41° 12.9' S and 174° 18.9' E; then proceeding north-east to East Head at 41° 12.8' S and 174° 19.4' E; then proceeding in a generally north-easterly direction along the mean high-water mark to the point of commencement; and including all those inland waters that flow into this area and that part of their catchments that are north of a line commencing at Clarence Point on the east coast of the South Island (at 42° 10' S and 173° 56' E) and proceeding south-west to Awara Point on the west coast of the South Island (at 44° 16' S and 168° 03' E).

Cape Stephens to Cape Koamaru
All New Zealand fisheries waters enclosed by a line commencing at Cape Stephens on the north coast of the South Island (at 40° 41.7' S and 173° 57.5' E); then proceeding in a north-easterly direction to the southern most point of Stephens Island at 40° 40.6' S and 174° 00' E; then proceeding in a generally southerly direction along the mean high-water mark on the eastern side of Stephens Island to the northern most point of Stephens Island at 40° 39.9' S and 174° 00' E; then proceeding in a south-easterly direction to the eastern most point of Brothers Islands at 41° 06.2' S and 174° 26.5' E; then proceeding in a north-west direction to Cape Koamaru at 41° 05.5' S and 174° 23' E; then proceeding in a generally south-westerly direction along the mean high-water mark to East Head at 41° 12.8' S and 174° 19.4' E; then proceeding in a south-westerly direction to West Head at 41° 12.9' S and 174° 18.9' E; then proceeding in a generally north-westerly direction along the mean high-water mark to the Channel Point Light at 40° 55.5' S and 173° 50.1' E; then proceeding in a northerly direction to Reef Point at French Pass on the east coast of D'Urville Island at 40° 55.2' S and 173° 50.1' E; then proceeding in a generally north-easterly direction along the mean high-water mark on the east coast of D'Urville Island to the point of commencement; and including all those inland waters that flow into this area and that part of their catchments that are north of a line commencing at Clarence Point on the east coast of the South Island (at 42° 10' S and 173° 56' E) and proceeding south-west to Awara Point on the west coast of the South Island (at 44° 16' S and 168° 03' E).

Cape Farewell to Cape Stephens
All New Zealand fisheries waters enclosed by a line commencing at Pillar Point on Cape Farewell on the north coast of the South Island (at 40° 30' S and 172° 43' E); then proceeding due north along longitude 172° 43' E to a point 39° 39' S and 172° 43' E; then proceeding in a south-westerly direction to the northern most point of Stephens Island at 40° 39.9' S and 174° 00' E; then proceeding in a generally southerly direction along the high water mark on the eastern side of Stephens Island to the southern most point of Stephens Island at 40° 40.6' S and 173° 59.4' E; then proceeding in a north-westerly direction to the point of commencement.

Awara Point to Cape Farewell
All New Zealand fisheries waters enclosed by a line commencing at Awara Point on the west coast of the South Island (at 44° 16' S and 168° 03' E); then proceeding due west along latitude 44° 16' S to the outer boundary of the exclusive economic zone to a point 44° 16' S and 162° 13' E; then proceeding in a generally north-easterly direction along the outer boundary of the exclusive economic zone to a point 37° 35' S and 170° 03' E; then proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction to a point 39° 39' S and 172° 43' E; then proceeding due south along longitude 172° 43' E to Pillar Point on Cape Farewell on the north coast of the South Island (at 40° 30' S and 172° 43' E); then proceeding in a generally south-westerly direction along the mean high-water mark to the point of commencement.

Clarence Point to Waimakariri River
All New Zealand fisheries waters enclosed by a line commencing at Clarence Point on the east coast of the South Island (at 42° 10' S and 173° 56' E); then proceeding due east to the point 42° 10' S and 176° 00' E; then proceeding due south to a point 43° 23.6' S and 176° 00' E; then proceeding due west to Waimakariri River (at 43° 23.6' S and 172° 42.6' E); and then proceeding in a generally north-easterly direction along the line of the mean high-water mark of the coast to the point of commencement.

Waimakariri River to Nugget Point
All New Zealand fisheries waters enclosed by a line commencing at Waimakariri River (at 43° 23.6' S and 172° 42.6' E); then proceeding due east to the point 43° 23.6' S and 176° 00' E; then proceeding due south to a point 46° 00' S and 176° 00' E; then proceeding in a south-westerly direction to the point 46° 27' S and 174° 40' E; then proceeding due west to Nugget Point (at 46° 27' S and 169° 49' E); and then proceeding in a generally north-easterly direction along the line of the mean high-water mark of the coast to the point of commencement.

Nugget Point to Awara Point
All New Zealand fisheries waters enclosed by a line commencing at Nugget Point (at 46° 27' S and 169° 49' E); then proceeding due east to the point 46° 27' S and 174° 40' E; then proceeding in a north-easterly direction to the point 46° 00' S and 176° 00' E; then proceeding due east to the outer limits of the exclusive economic zone along the same latitude.
