1990), the North Canterbury Fish and Game Council amends the District Anglers (North Canterbury Fish & Game Region) Notice 1990, supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 1990, No. 151, pages 3213-3215.
- Title and commencement—(1) This amending notice may be cited as the District Anglers (North Canterbury Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990, Amendment No. 2, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the District Anglers (North Canterbury Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal notice”).
(2) This amending notice shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1992.
- Interpretation—(1) The words “and Heron” in subclause 2 of clause 2 are deleted. Note: Lake Heron and Lake Stream are now incorporated within the Central South Island Fish and Game Region and District Anglers Notice for that region.
(2) Clause 2, subclause 2, paragraph (a) is amended to read as:
'(a) The white posts on the South bank in general line with the Lake Coleridge powerhouse intake pipes on the North bank, on the Rakaia River; and '
- Closed Season—(1) Clause 4, subclause (1), paragraph (b) is amended to read as:
'(b) From the 1st day of March to the 30th day of April in the same year (both days inclusive) in the Rakaia River and its tributaries above the Lake Coleridge powerhouse, that point more particularly shown by white posts on the South bank in general line with the powerhouse intake pipes on the North bank, or in any tributary flowing into the Lake Coleridge tailrace as indicated by signposts installed; provided that this subclause shall not apply to any lakes draining into the Rakaia River above the point specified.'
(2) Clause 4, subclause (1), paragraph (c) is amended by adding after “Lake Marion”, “;and in the Avon River and its tributaries entering it above the Armagh Street Bridge for senior (adult) licence holders only.”
(3) Clause 4, subclause (1) paragraph (d) is repealed and replaced with:
'(d) From midnight on the Friday immediately preceding the first Saturday in November until midnight on the 30th day of November in the same year (both days inclusive) in any natural or artificial stream and tributary flowing into any high country lake.'
(4) Clause 4, subclause (2), paragraph (d) of the principal notice is amended to read as:
'(d) The Waimakaruri River above the white posts at Woodstock, or any tributary of that part of that river or the Kowai River and its tributaries including Hacketts Creek.'
(5) Clause 4, subclause (2) of the principal notice is amended by:
(i) repealing paragraph (a).
(ii) renumbering paragraphs (b), (c) and (d) of the principal notice as paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) accordingly.
(6) Clause 4 of the principal notice is amended by adding as a new subclause:
'(3) There shall be a closed season for fishing for quinnat salmon from the 1st day of February to the 30th day of April in the same year (both days inclusive) in the following waters: (a) The Glenariffe Stream upstream from points marked and signposted, which are located 160 metres downstream from the hatchery release race outfall to the road bridge above the hatchery.'
- Authorised Tackle—(1) Clause 5, subclause (4) of the principal notice is amended to read as:
'(4) No licence holder shall fish for sports fish unless within 15 metres of the rod being used and has the rod under own visual observation.'
(2) Clause 5, subclause (5), paragraph (c) of the principal notice is amended to read as:
'(c) In any water in which only artificial fly fishing is permitted, any additional lead or weight other than the necessary weight of line, cast and fly.'
(3) Clause 5, subclause (5), paragraph (e), subparagraph (i) of the principal notice is amended to read as:
'(i) In the case of artificial fly substances used solely to give buoyancy to such flies.'
(4) Clause 5, subclause (6), paragraph (b) of the principal notice is amended to read as:
'(b) Fish from any boat being mechanically propelled in any lakes except Lakes Ellesmere, Forsyth, Coleridge and Sumner at a distance of at least 200 metres from any person fishing from the shore.'
(5) Clause 5, subclause (6), paragraph (c) of the principal notice is amended to read as:
'(c) Fish from any boat or any flotation device in any high country waters except Lakes Coleridge, Georgina, Lyndon, Pearson, Taylor, Katrine and Sumner, in which lakes any boat that is not being mechanically propelled may be used.'
- Daily Limit Bag—(1) Clause 10, subclause (2), paragraph (a) of the principal notice is amended to read as:
'(a) 6 sports fish taken from Lake Coleridge of which no more than 4 shall be trout.'
(2) Clause 10, subclause (2), of the principal notice is amended by inserting a new paragraph:
'(d) 1 splake from Lake Letitia.'
(3) Clause 10, subclause (4) of the principal notice is repealed.
(4) Clause 10, subclause (5) of the principal notice is renumbered as subclause (4).

Pursuant to section 26R (3) of the Conservation Act 1987 (as amended by section 17 of the Conservation Law Reform Act 1990), the West Coast Fish and Game Council amends the District Anglers (West Coast Fish & Game Region) Notice 1990, supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 1990, No. 151, pages 3215-3216.
- Title and commencement—(1) This amending notice may be cited as the District Anglers (West Coast Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990, Amendment No. 2, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the District Anglers (West Coast Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal notice”).
(2) This amending notice shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1992.
- Open Season—(1) Clause 3 (2) (h) of the principal notice is amended by deleting the words “Arnold Dam” and substituting with 'Grey River confluence'.
