Public Finance Act 1989

Notice of Guarantee Given Pursuant to Section 59 (2) of the Public Finance Act 1989

The following statement is made pursuant to section 59 (2) of the Public Finance Act 1989.

In December 1990 the Minister of Finance on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen in right of New Zealand (called the “Crown”), gave a guarantee of a public bond facility of, the New Zealand Railways Corporation (the “Corporation”) in favour of the holders of, Swiss Franc 150,000,000 5 3/4% Bonds (called the “Bonds”).

This guarantee was given as consideration for Kredietbank (Suisse) S.A. as agent for the holders of the bonds agreeing to the restructuring of the Corporation pursuant to the New Zealand Railways Restructuring Act 1990. The contingent liability of the Crown is principal of Swiss Franc 150,000,000 and any accrued interest.

Reserves Act 1977

Revocation Of The Reservation Over A Reserve Specifying The Manner Of Disposal And How Proceeds Of Sale Shall Be Utilised

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Wellington Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, hereby revokes the reservation as a reserve for recreation purposes over the land, described in the Schedule hereto, and further declares that the said land may be disposed of by the Horowhenua District Council in such manner, at such price and on such terms and conditions as Council shall determine, the proceeds from any such sale to be paid into Council’s Reserve Account, such moneys to be used and applied in or towards the improvement of other reserves under the control of the Council or in or towards the purchase of other land for reserves.
