The area specified in the First Schedule is declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

The roads specified in the Third Schedule are excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The Traffic (Invercargill City) Notice No. 2, 1969, dated on the 8th day of December 1969*, and the Traffic (Southland County) Notice No. 1, 1969, dated on the 28th day of August 1969†, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956, is revoked.

The Traffic (Invercargill City and Southland County) Notice No. 1, 1969‡, dated on the 21st day of July 1969, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956, is revoked.

The Traffic (Southland County) Notice No. 1, 1978, dated on the 25th day of May 1978§, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, is revoked.

The Traffic (Southland County) Notice No. 1, 1984, signed on the 20th day of September 1984‖, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, is revoked.

First Schedule

Situated within Invercargill City at Invercargill:

All roads, except those specified in the Second and Third Schedules to this notice, within an area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the western side of the No. 6 State Highway (Bluff-Invercargill via Nelson and Growcott), 200 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said State highway from West Plains Road; thence north-westerly, generally, by a right line to the northern end of Hunt Street; thence south-westerly, generally, by a right line to a point on the northern side of West Plains Road opposite to its intersection with the western side of Gloucester Street; thence across West Plains Road at right angles from its northern side to its southern side; thence westerly, generally, along the southern side of the said road to the western side of Sussex Street; thence southerly, generally, by a right line to a point on the northern side of Bay Road 200 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along the said road from Cunningham Street; thence across Bay Road at right angles from its northern side to its southern side; thence north-westerly and south-westerly, generally, along the said side of Bay Road to Otawara Road; thence south-westerly and southerly, generally, along the eastern side of Otawara Road to the northern side of Dunns Road; thence westerly, generally, along the northern side of Dunns Road to Beach Road; thence westerly, generally, along the northern side of Beach Road and along the prolongation of that roadside to the shoreline of the Oreti Beach; thence south-easterly, easterly and north-easterly, generally, along the said shoreline to Sandy Point; thence north-easterly, generally, by a right line to the southern side of Station Road at its western end; thence north-easterly and northerly, generally, along the said side of Station Road to the western side of the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff); thence across the said State Highway at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence south-easterly, generally, by a right line to the southern end of Perkins Street; thence north-easterly, generally, by a right line to the western side of Tisbury-Motu Rimu Road at its intersection with the southern side of Shaw Street; thence northerly, generally, along the western side of Tisbury-Motu Rimu Road to Rockdale Road; thence northerly, generally, along the said side of Rockdale Road to a point 50 metres measured southerly, generally, along Rockdale Road from Centre Street; thence across Rockdale Road at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence north-easterly, generally, by a right line to a point on the southern side of Oteramika Road, 200 metres measured north-easterly, generally, along the said road from Rockdale Road; thence across Oteramika Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence north-westerly, generally, by a right line to a point on the southern side of the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) 400 metres measured north-easterly, generally, along the said State highway from Rockdale Road; thence across the said State highway at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence north-easterly, generally, by a right line to a point on the southern side of Findlay Road opposite the eastern side of Bethunes Lane; thence across Findlay Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence north-westerly, generally, along the eastern side of Bethunes Lane, and along the prolongation of that roadside to the southern side of Bainfield Road; thence westerly, north-westerly and westerly, generally, along the said side of Bainfield Road to a point 50 metres measured easterly, generally, along the said road from Queens Drive; thence across Bainfield Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence north-easterly, generally, by a right line to a point on the eastern side of the No. 6 State Highway (Bluff-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth) due east of the commencing point; thence due west across the said State Highway to the commencing point.

Second Schedule

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from Kew Road to Balmoral Drive.

Airport Avenue: from Stead Street to a point 700 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along Airport Avenue from Stead Street.

Avon Road: from Bain Street to Chesney Street.

Bain Street: from the southern end of Bain Street to Stirrat Street.

Beach Road.

Boxall Street.

Chesney Street: from McQuarrie Street to Avon Road.

Dunns Road.

Findlay Road: from Bethunes Lane to Racecourse Road.

Gloucester Street: from West Plains Road to Switzer Street.

McMillan Street.

McQuarrie Street: from Chesney Street to Rockdale Road.

Maher Street.

Rockdale Road: from a point 80 metres measured southerly, generally, along Rockdale Road from Tweed Street to a point 50 metres measured southerly, generally, along Rockdale Road from Centre Street.

Sandy Point Road: from Dunns Road to a point 4 kilometres measured southerly, generally, along Sandy Point Road from Dunns Road.

Stead Street: from Airport Avenue to a point 100 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along Stead Street from Bond Street.

Stirrat Street: from Bain Street to Tisbury-Motu Rimu Road.

Tramway Road: from Rockdale Road to a point 200 metres measured easterly, generally, along Tramway Road from Regent Street.

Third Schedule

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from Kew Road to Station Road.

No. 92 State Highway (Balclutha-Invercargill): from Rockdale Road to a point 260 metres measured south-easterly, generally, along the said State highway from Brown Street.
