N o t i c e

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Horowhenua District) Notice No. 1, 1991.

The area and roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

The Traffic (Levin Borough) Notice No. 1, 1989, signed on the 12th day of July 1989* and the Traffic (Horowhenua County) Notice No. 1, 1981, signed on the 3rd day of August 1981†, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, are revoked.

So much of the Traffic (Horowhenua County) Notice No. 1, 1989, signed on the 12th day of July 1989‡, which relates to roads in the Schedules below, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, is revoked.

First Schedule

Situated within the Horowhenua District:

In the Levin township area: all roads except those exempted below, within the quadrangle, defined by the intersection of the following four straight lines:

  1. A line along the northern side of Tararua Road, from Arapapae Road and projected to Arawhata Road.

  2. A line along the western side of Arapapae Road, from Tararua Road to Roslyn Road.

  3. A line along the southern side of Roslyn Road, from Arapapae Road and projected to Kawiu Road.

  4. A line from where Kawiu Road is intersected by line 3 above, to where Arawhata Road is intersected by line 1 above.

Roads within the quadrangle but exempted:

State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 60 metres measured southerly, generally along the said State highway from Hokio Beach Road to the quadrangle’s southern side.

State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 120 metres measured northerly, generally along the said State highway from Kawiu Road to the quadrangle’s northern side.

Arawhata Road.

Bruce Road.

C.D. Farm Road.

Fairfield Road: from a point 70 metres measured northerly, generally along the said State highway from Kennedy Drive to Roslyn Road.

Hamaria Road.

Hokio Beach Road: from Bruce Road to the quadrangle’s western side.

Kawiu Road: from Tiro Tiro Road to the quadrangle’s northwestern corner.

Mako Mako Road: from a point 370 metres measured westerly, generally along the said road from Tiro Tiro Road to its western end.

Queen Street East: from a point 50 metres measured easterly, generally along the said street from Vincent Drive to Arapapae Road.

Roslyn Road: from a point 75 metres measured northerly, generally along the said road from Newport Street to the quadrangle’s northern side.

In the Hokio Beach area:

Hokio Beach Road: from its western end (Kemp Street intersection) to a point 70 metres measured easterly, generally, along the said road from Muritai Terrace.

Barclay Street.

Broughton Street.

Ewing Street.

Hokio Road.

Hunia Street.

Kemp Street.

Kingi Street.

Muaupoko Road.

Muritai Terrace.

Otereo Street.

Pariri Street.

Proctor Street.

Tawhiti Street.

Second Schedule

In the Levin township area:

State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 60 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said State highway from Hokio Beach Road to a point 590 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said State highway from Hokio Beach Road.

State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 120 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said State highway from Kawiu Road to a point 260 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said Lindsay Road.

Fairfield Road: from a point 70 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said road from Kennedy Drive to Roslyn Road.

Hamaria Road.

Kawiu Road: from Tiro Tiro Road to a point 750 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said road from Tiro Tiro Road.

Mako Mako Road: from a point 370 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said road from Tiro Tiro Road to its western end.

Queen Street East: from a point 50 metres measured easterly, generally, along the said street from Vincent Drive to Arapapae Road.

Roslyn Road: from a point 75 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said road from Newport Street to State Highway No. 57 (Levin-Aokautere).
