Animals Act 1967

Notice to Set Apart and Define a Special Quarantine Ground at Invercargill (Notice No. 4958; QUAL/0966/RF)

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to section 11A (1) of the Animals Act 1967, land being Rosedale Farm, Tussock Creek, R.D. 6, Invercargill, being 96.4618 hectares, more or less, comprising, part of 23.54 hectares, being Section 6, Block VIII, New River Hundred, certificate of title 36/65 (Southland Registry), part of 32.4482 hectares, being Section 5, Block VIII, New River Hundred, certificate of title XL/173 (Southland Registry) and part of 64.0137 hectares, being Sections 1 and 2, Block VIII, New River Hundred, certificate of title A3/711 (Southland Registry), is hereby declared to be a special quarantine ground for the importation of animals.

Dated at Wellington this 23rd day of January 1990.

Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Maungwhau 1990

Pursuant to sections 146 and 155 of the Education Act 1989 (as inserted by section 14 of the Education Amendment Act 1989), the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:

N o t i c e

  1. This notice may be cited as the Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Maungwhau.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Gazette.

  3. I hereby establish at 74 Epsom Avenue, Epsom Auckland, a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Maungwhau and I hereby designate the school as a Kura Kaupapa Maori.

  4. Aims, purposes and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Maungwhau.

Together with the use of Te Reo Maori as the principal language of instruction the following aims, purposes and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Maungwhau:

(i) To secure and nurture “te tino rangatiratanga”.

(ii) To provide an education that addresses the learning needs of children so that they become valued taonga of their iwi, hapu and whanau.

(iii) To produce bilingual and bicultural citizens of Aotearoa.

(iv) To embrace Te Aho Matua o nga Kura Kaupapa Maori.

  1. Constitution of the Board of Trustees—The Board of Trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Maungwhau shall comprise:

(a) 5 people appointed by the Minister; and

(b) The principal or principal designate; and

(c) Not more than 4 persons co-opted by the Board.

  3. I hereby establish in Mangere, Auckland, a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Mangere and I hereby designate the school as a Kura Kaupapa Maori.

  4. Aims, purposes and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Mangere.

Together with the use of Te Reo Maori as the principal language of instruction the following aims, purposes and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Mangere:

(i) To promote an education that fulfils aspirations that Maori people have set as vital to the retention and further enhancement of Maori culture.

(ii) To provide the extended education platform from Te Kohanga Reo beginnings.

(iii) To secure and nurture “te tino rangatiratanga”.

(iv) To embrace Te Aho Matua o Nga Kura Kaupapa Maori.

  1. Constitution of the Board of Trustees—The Board of Trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Mangere shall comprise:

(a) 5 people appointed by the Minister; and

(b) The principal or principal designate; and

  3. I hereby establish at 41 Fichette Street, Palmerston North, a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Manawatu and I hereby designate the school Kura Kaupapa Maori.

  4. Aims, purposes and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Manawatu.

Together with the use of Te Reo Maori as the principal language of instruction the following aims, purposes and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Manawatu:

(i) To promote and foster the Maori language and culture.

(ii) To provide a secure and stimulating learning environment for the children.

(iii) To develop each child’s potential as a total person.

(iv) To enhance children’s self-respect and pride in their cultural identity.
