Approval of Child Restraints for Use in Motor Vehicles

Pursuant to section 77B of the Transport Act 1962 and pursuant to powers delegated to me by an instrument of delegation dated the 14th day of November 1989, child restraints of the types described in the Schedule hereto are hereby approved for the purposes of section 77C of the said Act and for the purposes of regulations 30 and 30A of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

The notices issued pursuant to regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and dated the 3rd day of October 1988 and 15th day of November 1989, are hereby revoked.

Schedule

Child restraints that comply with Australian Standard 1754 and are marked or otherwise labelled in accordance with the requirements of that standard.

Child restraints that comply with British Standard 3254 or British Standard AU185 or British Standard AU202 and are marked or otherwise labelled in accordance with the requirements of the respective standards.
