Approval of Defensive Driving Courses
Pursuant to section 48 (2) (a) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, and under powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport in an instrument dated the 31st day of August 1990; I, Warren Richard Gillespie Simeon, Controller, Road User Standards, hereby approve the following organisations for the purposes of section 68 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulations 11 (1) (b) (ii) and 32 (2) of the Transport (Drivers Licensing) Regulations 1987:
Mokau Ki-Runga Trust Defensive Driving Course, Pio Pio.
Levin Driving School Defensive Driving Course, Levin.
A Plus Driving School Defensive Driving Course, Waimauku.
Allan McCarron Defensive Driving Course, Whangarei.

Pex Driving School Defensive Driving Course, Te Atatu North.
Bush’s Driving School Defensive Driving Course, Rotorua.

Broadcasting Act 1989
Broadcasting Standards Authority—Decision No. 24/90 and 25/90
Pursuant to section 15 (1) of the Broadcasting Act 1989, notice is hereby given that the Broadcasting Standards Authority has made the following decisions on complaints referred to it for investigation and review:
(i) In Decision No. 24/90, the Authority upheld complaint by H. E. Jensen of Wellington that the broadcast by TVNZ Ltd. of an advertisement on behalf of the Listener breached the responsibility placed on broadcasters to be truthful and accurate on points of fact.
(ii) In Decision No. 25/90, the Authority upheld a complaint by Sonia White of Auckland that the broadcast by TV3 Network Services Ltd. of an item on a 6.30 p.m. 3 National News bulletin concerning the conviction and sentencing of two men for torturing a man who carried the aids virus breached the responsibility place on broadcasters to be mindful of the effect programmes may have on children during their generally accepted viewing periods and to avoid themes and scenes dealing with disturbing social and domestic friction or sequences in which children or animals may be humiliated or badly treated.

Conservation
Conservation Act 1987
Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes
Pursuant to section 7 (1) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation and the Minister of Lands, being the Minister responsible for the Department of State that has control of the land, jointly declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is held for conservation purposes and it shall hereafter be so held.

South Auckland Land District—Western Bay of Plenty District
188.7600 hectares, more or less, being Section 1 and Section 2, S.O. Plan 53456, shown on N.Z.M.S. 261 Sheet U15/82 (part New Zealand Gazette, 1961, page 1117).

Declaring Conservation Land to be a Reserve
Pursuant to section 8 (1A) of the Conservation Act 1987, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Bay of Plenty Conservancy of the Department of Conservation hereby declares that the conservation area described in the Schedule hereto shall be set apart as a Government purpose reserve, subject to the Reserves Act 1977 and furthermore, declares the said land to be classified as a reserve for afforestation purposes, subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977.
