Conditions

(i) The lights to be controlled by a switch on the pump control panel and will only operate when the foam monitor is in the raised unhoused position.

(ii) When such motor vehicles are operated on the road, the monitor shall remain in a housed position unless at the site of an emergency.

The Traffic (Opotiki District) Notice No. 1 1990

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, give the following notice:

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Opotiki District) Notice No. 1, 1990.

The road specified in the Schedule is declared to be a 70 kilometre an hour speed limit area pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

Schedule

Situated within Opotiki District at Torere:

No. 35 State Highway (Opotiki-Gisborne via Te Araora); from the Torere Tribunary Bridge to a point 880 metres measured north-easterly, generally along the said State highway from Te Waiti Road.

Approval of Hazardous Substances Courses

Pursuant to paragraph 48 (2) (e) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986; and

Under powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport in an instrument of delegation dated the 14th day of November 1989; I, John Battersby Toomath, Manager Safety Standards, hereby approve the following courses and organisations for the purposes of paragraph 70H (1) (a) of the Transport Act 1962:

School of Transport and Catering Hazardous Substances Course conducted by School of Transport and Catering as the organisation.

Standards Act 1988

The Standards Act 1988—Draft Joint New Zealand/Australian Standard Available for Comment

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 10 of the Standards Act 1988, notice is hereby given that the following draft Joint New Zealand/Australian Standard is being circulated:

DZ 6302 Approval and test specification—Particular requirements for vacuum cleaners and water suction cleaning appliances. (Revision of AS 3308.1-1988 and AS 3308.2-1988) 19 pages, $11.66 incl. GST.

A New Zealand draft Standard was originally circulated for public comment on 14 April 1989 but since then SANZ and Standards Australia have entered into a joint Standards programme. This new draft is proposed to become a Joint New Zealand/Australian Standard under that programme. It was prepared by the Standards Australia Committee on Electrical Approvals Standards and should be read in conjunction with the parent document AS 3300:1988/NZS:1989 (General requirements).

Any persons who wish to comment may obtain copies from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Wellington Trade Centre, 181–187 Victoria Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

Closing date for receipt of comment: 7 September 1990.
