Standards Act 1988

The Standards Act 1988—Draft Standard and Amendment Available for Comment

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 10 of the Standards Act 1988, notice is hereby given that the following draft Standard and Amendment are being circulated.

DZ 4238 Fire safety in atrium buildings. 18 pages, $11.25 incl. GST.

The use of atrium spaces in modern building design is increasing both within New Zealand and overseas. To assist local authority engineers and building designers, DZ 4238 Fire safety in atrium buildings has been released for comment, based on Building Research Association of New Zealand study report SR 15.

DZ 1900: Chapter 5/A2 Draft Amendment No. 2 to NZS 1900: Model building bylaw Chapter 5: 1988 Fire resisting construction and means of egress. 3 pages, Gratis.

Provides for automatic sliding doors to be used in exitways (clause 5.3.8); air leakage testing of smoke-stop doorsets (clause 5.2.1) and atrium spaces within multi-storey buildings (clause 5.87).

All persons who may have an interest in these publications and who desire to comment thereon may obtain copies from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Wellington Trade Centre, 181–187 Victoria Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

The closing date for receipt of comment is 28 February 1990.
