"The Council" means the Bruce District Council constituted under the Local Government Act 1974:

3. Grant of Control—There is hereby granted to the Council, for a period of 21 years from the commencement of this order, the control of the waters described in the Schedule to this Order.

4. Conditions of grant—The grant of control conferred by clause 3 of this Order is subject to the following conditions—

(a) Suitably worded signs shall be erected at main public access ways to the waters described in the Schedule to this Order indicating that control of them has been granted to the Council pursuant to section 8A of the Act.

(b) All money received by the Council in the performance or exercise of the functions, duties, or powers conferred on it by this Order in respect of the waters to which this Order applies, shall, after the deduction of any expenditure incurred by the Council in the performance or exercise of those functions, duties, or powers, be applied to the construction, repair or improvement of facilities in respect of those waters and not otherwise.

5. Powers of Council—Subject to section 8A of the Act, the Council may, in respect of the waters to which this Order applies:

(a) By bylaw, do anything which a Harbour Board may do, by bylaw, under section 232 of the Act;

(b) Appoint harbourmasters and other officers, and define or limit their powers and duties.

Notice of Approval of Bylaws

I, Philip Rosswells Edmond Woollaston, Minister of Conservation, pursuant to section 165 of the Harbours Act 1950, hereby give approval to Chapter 19 of the Mt Roskill Borough Council Consolidated General Bylaws 1989 adopted on 25 July 1989 and confirmed on 22 August 1989 by meetings of the Council, and approved by the Minister of Transport on 6 September 1989.

Notice of Intention to Seek Approval

Take notice that pursuant to section 24C (2) of the Electricity Act 1968, I, Philip Joseph McCarthy, Acting Secretary of Energy, intend to apply one month from the date of publication of this notice to the Minister of Energy for approval of the Electrical Code of Practice for Electrical Installations Supply by Generating Systems not Exceeding Medium Voltage ECP 4:1989.

Copies of the Draft Electrical Code of Practice for Electrical Installations Supply by Generating Systems not Exceeding Medium Voltage ECP 4:1989 may be obtained by writing to “Draft ECP 4 for Comment” care of the Chief Electrical Inspectors Office, Ministry of Energy, P.O. Box 2337, Wellington.

Notice of issue of Draft Electrical Code of Practice for Electrical Installation of Mineral Insulated, Metal Sheathed Cables (MIMS) ECP:33

Public comment is sought on draft document ECP:33 which it is proposed to issue as a code of practice pursuant to the Electricity Act 1968.

The draft document outlines the general requirements for the installation of mineral insulated metal sheathed cables and additional requirements relating to the use of these cables in an earth sheath return (ESR) system.

Copies of the draft may be obtained by writing to “ECP:33 for Comment” care of the Chief Electrical Inspectors Office, Ministry of Energy, P.O. Box 2337, Wellington.

Closing date for the receipt of comments by the Ministry of Energy is 25 November 1989.
