Environment Act 1986

Addendum to Environmental Impact Report Notified

Maui Stage II Development

The Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment has received an Addendum to the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on the Maui Stage II Development proposal for review. This is as a result of changes to the original proposals made in the EIR notified on the 23rd day of June 1988. The Addendum was prepared by Shell BP and Todd Oil Services Limited, on behalf of Maui Development Limited, in accordance with the Government’s Environmental Protection and Enhancement Procedures.

The Commissioner’s review will be carried out under section 16 (1) (c) of the Environment Act 1986. Upon completion it will be referred to the Minister of Energy as well as being presented to the House of Representatives.

You are invited to make written submissions to the Commissioner on the Addendum and environmental implications of the new proposals. Submissions should be addressed to:

Submissions should reach the Commissioner’s office before 5 p.m. on Monday, 6 November 1989. It is requested that these be made in dark legible script, but preferably typed, on single sides of A4 sized paper.

The Commissioner’s review will be completed in December 1989.

Copies of the Addendum may be purchased at a cost of $10 GST inclusive from:
