Clause 3 of the principal notice is hereby amended by revoking paragraph (l) and substituting the following paragraph:
(1) Not more than 6 members to be co-opted by the council itself, if and when it thinks fit.

Clause 4 of the principal notice is hereby revoked and the following clause substituted:
- (1) Except in the case of a casual vacancy, or as otherwise provided in this notice, every member shall hold office until the 1st day of December 1990.
(2) If any member:
a. Dies; or b. Resigns office by giving written notice addressed to the council or to the Chairman or the Secretary thereof; or c. Is absent without leave from the meetings of the council for 3 consecutive months; or d. While holding office becomes ineligible to remain a member by reason of disability, insolvency, neglect of duty or misconduct; the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter by the appointment or election of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed or elected. The member appointed or elected to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom that person replaces.(3) The powers of the council shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof.

Wellington Polytechnic Amendment Notice 1989
Pursuant to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the Associate Minister of Education as a member of the Executive Council of New Zealand gives the following notice.
Notice

(1) This notice shall be cited as the Wellington Polytechnic Amendment Notice 1989 and shall be read together and deemed part of the Wellington Polytechnic Notice 1982* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).
(2) This notice shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Gazette.

Clause 3 of the principal notice is hereby amended by revoking paragraph (o) and substituting the following paragraph:
(o) One member who shall be a student of the Wellington Polytechnic and who shall be appointed by the Wellington Polytechnic Studentsβ Association.

Central Institute of Technology Amendment Notice 1989
Pursuant to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the Associate Minister of Education as a member of the Executive Council of New Zealand gives the following notice.

(1) This notice shall be cited as the Central Institute of Technology Amendment Notice 1989 and shall be read together and deemed part of the Central Institute of Technology Notice 1986* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).
(2) This notice shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Gazette.

Clause 3 of the principal notice is hereby amended by revoking paragraph (k) and substituting the following paragraph:
(k) Two members who shall be students of the Central Institute of Technology (at least one of whom shall be a woman) who shall represent the students of the Institute and who shall be appointed by the Central Institute of Technology Studentsβ Union.
