Game That May be Hunted or Killed | Duration of 1988 Season

  • Grey, shoveler and mallard duck | 7 May to 31 July 1988 incl.
  • Paradise shelduck | 7 May to 3 July 1988 incl.
  • Pukeko | 7 May to 31 July 1988 incl.
  • Black swan | 7 May to 3 July 1988 incl.

Daily Bag Limits

  • Grey duck, 10
  • Shoveler duck, 2
  • Mallard duck, 10
  • Paradise Shelduck, 10
  • Pukeko, 20
  • Black swan, 2

Shooting hours: 6.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Decoy limit: No limit.

Special Condition

  1. No person shall for the purpose of hunting or killing any game on the waters of Lake Maninapua, build or use any fixed stand, pontoon, hide or maimai, except within 45 metres of the lake water margin.

THIRD SCHEDULE

GAME LICENCES AND LICENCE FEES

Pursuant to Regulations 5 and 13 of the Wildlife Regulations 1955, the Minister of Conservation hereby approves the licence fees set and payable in respect of each class of game licence and the conditions attached thereto.

Class: New Zealand Game Licence

Fee: Thirty-four dollars fifty-five cents ($34.55), except that for licences issued by the Hawera Acclimatisation Society the fee shall be twenty-five dollars ($25.00).

Conditions: A New Zealand Game Licence shall enable the holder to hunt or kill game in all acclimatisation districts of New Zealand, except that those licences issued by the Hawera Acclimatisation Society shall enable the holder to hunt or kill game only in the district of issue until 8 May 1988 inclusive, and thereafter in all acclimatisation districts of New Zealand.

The holder of the licence shall be subject to the conditions and daily possession limits for each acclimatisation district in which the hunting or killing of game takes place, as specified under the Second Schedule of the Notice in the New Zealand Gazette in which the Minister of Conservation declared the 1988 open season for game.

Class: Junior New Zealand Game Licence

Fee: Seventeen dollars twenty seven cents ($17.27), except that for licences issued by the Hawera Acclimatisation Society the fee shall be fourteen dollars ($14.00).

Conditions: A Junior New Zealand Game Licence shall enable the holder to hunt or kill game in all acclimatisation districts of New Zealand, except that those licences issued by the Hawera Acclimatisation Society shall enable the holder to hunt or kill game only in the district of issue until 8 May 1988 inclusive, and thereafter in all acclimatisation districts of New Zealand.

Junior New Zealand Game Licences may be issued to persons under 16 years of age as at 7 May 1988. The provisions of the Arms Act 1983 apply with respect to firearms used in accordance with the licence.
