Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

Order

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Lake Taupo Rural Fire District Order 1974, Amendment No. 3, and shall be read together with and deemed part of this order constituting the Lake Taupo Rural Fire District Order made on the 1st day of April 1974 * (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).

(2) This order shall come into force on the 28th day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. The Schedule to the principal order is hereby amended by omitting the Schedule thereto and substituting the Schedule to this order.

South Auckland and Wellington Land Districts—Lake Taupo Rural Fire District

All that area in the South Auckland and Wellington Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the southern side of State Highway No 1 and the right (north) bank of the Hinemaiaia Stream situated in Block I Waitahanui Survey District, thence along that right bank to the eastern shore of Lake Taupo, thence northerly along that eastern shore to the north most point of Part Tauhara Middle 4A2B1B; thence southeasterly along the northeastern boundary of that Block to the northern boundary of Pt Tauhara Middle 4A2B2C, thence generally easterly along that northern boundary, (crossing State Highway No 1 by right line), to its point of intersection with the left (west) bank of the Waitahanui Stream, thence generally easterly and southerly along that left bank to the Te Aero Stream, thence generally southerly along the left (west) bank of that Stream to its intersection with the eastern most point of Part Tauhara B, thence westerly along the southern boundary of that block, to and generally southerly and westerly along the generally eastern and southern boundaries of Te Whakao 2 to its southwestern corner; thence generally easterly along the generally southern boundary of Te Whakao 1 and southerly along the eastern boundaries of Tauranga Taupo 3B1B as described by the Maori Land Court in Description of Boundaries 8367; thence generally southerly and northwesterly along the generally eastern and southwestern boundaries of Turuturuora Block to its intersection with the eastern most point of Part Tauranga Taupo 3A as shown on SO Plan 16390, thence generally easterly along the generally southern boundaries of Parts Tauranga Taupo 2A and 3A as delineated on SO Plan 16390 to the point of intersection with the Tauranga-Taupo River, thence by right line to the northeastern corner of part Hautu 1A8 situated in Block III Ohomo Survey District (Wellington Land District); thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of the said 1A8 and part Hautu 1B1A to the northernmost corner of part Hautu 1B1B2B5A; thence southeasterly along the northeastern boundaries of part Hautu 1B1B2B5A and Section 3 SO Plan 33327 to the easternmost point of that section; thence generally easterly and southerly along the generally eastern and southern boundaries of the said section 3 to the southernmost point of part Hautu 1B1B2B5A (shown B on SO Plan 33327); thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of the said part Hautu 1B1B2B5A to its intersection with the southwestern boundary of Part Hautu 1B1B2B5A (ML Plan 4406); thence along that boundary to the easternmost point of part Hautu 1B1B2A (ML Plan 4406); thence northwesterly, southerly and southwesterly along the northeastern, western and southwestern boundaries of part Hautu 1B1B2A to the northernmost corner of Hautu 1B1B2B5B4, thence southwesterly along the northwestern boundaries of Hautu 1B1B2B5B4 and Hautu 1B1B2B5B3 to the northeastern boundary of Part Hautu 1B1B2A, thence generally northwesterly along the generally southwestern boundaries of parts Hautu 1A8, 1A7, and 1A6 (ML Plan 4406) and the production of that last boundary to the middle of the Waimarino River, thence southerly along the middle of the Waimarino River to a point opposite the northwestern boundary of part Hautu 2B1B2E, thence southwesterly and southerly to and along that boundary and the southwestern boundary of part Hautu 2B1B2E to its southernmost point; thence southwesterly along the southeastern boundaries of part Hautu 2B1B1, part Hautu 2A and the production of that boundary across the Waiotaka River and along the southeast boundaries of part Hautu 4A and part Hautu 4B2B2A to its southernmost point thence generally southwesterly along the generally southeastern boundary of Hautu 4B2B2B2F2 to the eastern boundary of Hautu 4B2A2D, thence southerly along that boundary and the eastern boundary of Hautu 4B2A2C2 to its southeastern point, thence generally westerly along the generally southern boundaries of Hautu 4B2A2C2, Hautu 4B2A2B2, and Hautu 5B2B2B to a point opposite the western boundary of Hautu 5B2B2A; thence southerly to and along that boundary to the northeastern corner of part Hautu 5B2A (State Forest, New Zealand Gazette 1939, page 399); thence westerly along the northern boundary of part Hautu 5B2A aforesaid and the production of that boundary across the Tongariro River to the western side, thence southerly along the western side of the Tongariro River to the southeastern boundary of part Rangipo North 3C, thence westerly along that boundary and its production to the western side of State Highway 1; thence northwesterly along the southwestern boundaries of parts Rangipo North 3B and 2B (Rangipo Prison Farm, Statutory Regulations 1978, Number 252) to the southernmost point of part Rangipo North 2C1, thence northeasterly along the southeastern boundaries of part Rangipo North 2C1 and Parts Rangipo North C2 (crossing Stopped Road, SO Plan 19442) to the southern side of National Park Rangipo Road (State Highway 47A); thence easterly and northerly along the southern and eastern sides of that road and State Highway 1 to the eastern side of the Poutu River, thence generally northerly along the generally eastern sides of that river and the Tongariro River to the eastern side of State Highway 1, thence generally northeasterly along the generally southeastern side of that road to the point of commencement.

As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. MF 102 deposited in the Head Office of the Ministry of Forestry at Wellington, and thereon bordered red"
