The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification
DZ 6101 Classification of hazardous areas.

Part 3: Specific occupancies. $14.75 (incl. GST)

This draft completes the revision of NZS 6101P:1972. Parts 1 and 2 were issued earlier and comments have closed. Part 3 provides guidance on the classification of specific hazardous areas and will be available as a means of compliance.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification
DZ 6113 Inspection, testing and maintenance of electrical apparatus in hazardous areas. $14.30

In industry, many of the gases, vapours, mists and dusts generated, processed, handled or stored are flammable. This draft Standard sets out the general requirements for inspection, testing and maintenance of electrical apparatus in hazardous areas which are applicable to all types of protection but excluding mining applications.

The Standards Act 1965—Overseas Specification Available for Comment

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the under-mentioned overseas specification is being considered for declaration as a New Zealand Standard.

Number and Title of Specification
BS 6460: Part 1:1983 Specification of the general requirements for the technical competence of testing laboratories was issued as a draft for development (DD 2801) in 1985. It was issued at the request of the Dairy Division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and has been widely circulated in that industry. It is now proposed to declare this as a New Zealand Standard NZS 5610.

Comments are invited before 10 March 1988.

Copies of DD 2801 are available from the Sales Section at $14.30 (incl. GST) per copy.

The Standards Act 1965—Amendment to Overseas Specification Available for Comment

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the under-mentioned amendment to an overseas specification is being considered for declaration as a New Zealand amendment.

Number and Title of Specification
BS 88:— (NZS 6208:—) Cartridge fuses for voltages up to and including 1000 V a.c. and 1500 V d.c. —

Amendment No. /AMD (Price)
Part 5: 1980 (NZS 6208: Part 5: 1984) Supplementary requirements for fuse links of standardised dimensions and performance for use in a.c. electricity supply networks. ($30.80 incl. GST)

This amendment replaces the time/current zones of Fig. 1 with new, narrower zones to introduce more precision in the predictability of performance.
