The committee shall consist of seven members as follows:
(a) Three persons appointed by New Zealand Timberlands Ltd. by writing signed on behalf of that company by one director and one secretary thereof:
(b) Three persons appointed by Carter Holt Harvey Forests Ltd. by writing signed on behalf of that company by one director and one secretary thereof; and
(c) one representative of the Hawke’s Bay County Council.
(3) This clause shall be read together and be deemed part of the principal order.
- (1) The order constituting the Marlborough North Rural Fire District made on the 29th day of October 1979 (b) (hereinafter, in this clause together with all amendments thereto, referred to as the principal order) is hereby amended by revoking clause 6 of the principal order and substituting the following clause:
“6. The Marlborough North Rural Fire District shall be administered for the purposes of the said Act by a committee consisting of ten members two of whom represent the Department of Conservation, and one member each representing the Nelson/Marlborough Parks and Reserves Board, the New Zealand Forestry Corporation Ltd. (appointed in writing signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof), the Marlborough County Council, the Marlborough Forest Owners Association, the Federated Farmers of New Zealand (this representative shall have territorial interests in the Marlborough North Rural Fire District), New Zealand Fire Services Commission, Marlborough Catchment Board, respectively, and a member of the Residents and Ratepayers Associations within the Marlborough North Rural Fire District, from its inception the said committee to be known as the Marlborough North Rural Fire Committee.”
(2) This clause shall be read together with and be deemed part of the principal order.
- (1) The order constituting the Hunu Rural Fire District made on the 10th day of November 1948 (c) (hereinafter, in this clause together with all amendments thereto, referred to as the principal order) is hereby amended by revoking wherever they occur the words: “and do hereby specify the period between the first day of October in any one year and the thirtieth day of April in the following year (both days inclusive) as a restricted fire season in the said district.”
(2) This clause shall be read together with and be deemed part of the principal order.
- (1) In this clause, unless the context otherwise requires, “district” means the Lake Taupo Rural Fire District, the Poutu Rural Fire District, the Kaingaroa Rural Fire District, the Rotoehu Rural Fire District, and the Golden Downs Rural Fire District.
(2) Every reference, in any Order in Council listed in the First Schedule hereto, to the Minister of Forestry shall be read as a reference to the New Zealand Forestry Corporation Ltd., and the fire authority for each district is deemed to be the New Zealand Forestry Corporation Ltd.

Explanatory Note:
The attached Order in Council amends the constitution of the Esk and Marlborough North Rural Fire Committees, amends the restricted fire season for the Esk Rural Fire District and abolishes the same for the Hunu Rural Fire District and provides that the Lake Taupo, Poutu, Kaingaroa, Rotoehu and Golden Downs Rural Fire Districts shall be administered by the New Zealand Forestry Corporation Ltd.
