  1. Daily limit bag—Clause 11 of the principal notice is amended—

(1) By omitting from subclauses (1) and (3) the number “8” and substituting the number “5”.

(2) By repealing subclause (2).

(3) By repealing subclause (4).

  1. Minimum size to be taken—Clause 12 of the principal notice is amended by repealing paragraph (a) of subclause (2) and substituting the following:

“(a) (i) Lake Pupuke:

(ii) Lake Moananui:

(iii) Tomarata:

(iv) Ototoa:

(v) Lake Whatihua (Thomsons Lake):

(vi) Lake Otamatearoa (Muirs Lake):

(vii) The Hikutaia Cut:

District Anglers (Southern Lakes Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987, Amendment No. 1

Pursuant to section 71 of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Department of Conservation amends the District Anglers (Southern Lakes Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987. New Zealand Gazette, 1987, page 4072.

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This amending notice may be cited as the District Anglers (Southern Lakes Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the District Anglers (Southern Lakes Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal notice”).

(2) This amending notice shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1988.

  1. Interpretation—The principal notice is amended by inserting before any definitions the following definitions:

“Artificial fly” shall be deemed to include any lure of feather, fur, wool, or other material of any kind customarily used in the making of artificial flies; but shall not include any lure in the tying of which lead or other weight has been incorporated unless the hook incorporated in that lure does not exceed 14 mm in length (exclusive of the eye) and the gape of the hook does not exceed 6 mm.

“Artificial minnow” shall be deemed to include spoonbait, any feather lure in the tying of which lead or other weight has been incorporated to facilitate the casting or sinking of the lure, and any lure which incorporates a spinning device or a device to impart a wobbling or irregular motion to the lure.

(2) Clause 2 (1) of the principal notice is amended by substituting the words “Clause 6” for the words “Clause 5” where they appear in the definition of “Natural fly”.

District Anglers (Hawke’s Bay Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987, Amendment No. 1

Pursuant to section 71 of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Hawke’s Bay Acclimatisation Society amends the District Anglers (Hawke’s Bay Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987, supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, No. 164 of Friday, 25 September 1987, pages 4510–4511.

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This amending notice may be cited as the District Anglers (Hawke’s Bay Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the District Anglers (Hawke’s Bay Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal notice”).

(2) This amending notice shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1988.

  1. Open season—Clause 3 of the principal notice is amended by inserting after paragraph (h) of subclause (2) a new paragraph:

“(i) The larger of the two lakes, known as Twin Lakes, at Kuripapango.”

  1. Daily limit bag—Clause 9 of the principal notice is amended by repealing subclause (1) and substituting the following subclause:

“(1) No licence holder shall on any one day take or have in his possession more than 8 trout or salmon, except that there shall be no limit bag on trout taken from Lake Tutira or from the larger of the two lakes, known as Twin Lakes, at Kuripapango.”

  1. Minimum size to be taken—Clause 10 of the principal notice is amended by repealing subclause (1) and substituting the following subclause:

“(1) No licence holder shall take or have in his possession any trout or salmon which does not exceed 30 cm in length, except that there shall be no size limit on trout taken from the larger of the two lakes, known as the Twin Lakes, at Kuripapango.”

District Anglers (Ashburton Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987, Amendment No. 1

Pursuant to section 71 of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Ashburton Acclimatisation Society amends the District Anglers (Ashburton Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987, Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette of Thursday, 24 September 1987, page 4506–4508.

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This amending notice may be cited as the District Anglers (Ashburton Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the District Anglers (Ashburton Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal notice”).

(2) This amending notice shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1988.

  1. Closed season—Clause 4 of the principal notice is amended by inserting in paragraph (e) of subclause (1), the words “and its tributaries” after the words “Ashburton River.”

  2. Authorised lure and baits—Clause 9 of the principal notice is amended by repealing paragraph (b) of subclause (2) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(b) Use any natural bait in Lake Camp (also known as Howard), Lake Emma, Lake Mystery, the Ashburton River except from its mouth to a point downstream of the junction of the South Ashburton River and Taylors Stream, and inclusive of the North Ashburton River, the Rakaia River and its tributaries upstream from the Lake Coleridge Powerhouse but excluding Lake Heron, or the Rangitata River and its tributaries upstream of the point known as Red Rocks Bluff.”

  1. Daily limit bag—Clause 10 of the principal notice is amended—

(1) By omitting paragraph (b) of subclause (2) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(b) In any other waters, not more than 2 trout per day, of which not more than 1 trout may exceed 45 cm in length.”
