The Ashley/Waikari Pest Destruction District Constitution Order 1987 (Notice No. 4013)

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
Pursuant to sections 23 and 27 of the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council and upon the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
-
This order may be cited as the Ashley/Waikari Pest Destruction District Constitution Order 1987.
-
This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

The Ashley Pest Destruction District constituted by Order in Council on the 7th day of October 1971 and the Waikari Pest Destruction District constituted by Order in Council on the 18th day of March 1971 are hereby declared to be united to form the Ashley/Waikari Pest Destruction District.

The Ashley Pest Destruction District and the Waikari Pest Destruction District are hereby declared abolished.

Any real or personal property of the dissolved boards of the Ashley Pest Destruction District and the Waikari Pest Destruction District remaining after payment of the debts and liabilities of those boards is hereby vested in the board of the Ashley/Waikari Pest Destruction District.

The boundaries of the Ashley/Waikari Pest Destruction District shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
ASHLEY/WAIKARI PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, situated in the Cheviot, Eyre, Hurunui and Oxford Counties, Rangiora District and the Boroughs of Kaiapoi and Rangiora, containing 443,700 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing on the mean high-water mark of the sea in the middle of the Waiau River and proceeding generally north-westerly up the middle of that river to a point due west of Trig Station S (Black Hill) situated in Block IX, Upper Ashley Survey District; thence due east to that trig station being a point on the Pukekereru Range; thence generally north-easterly along the summit of that range to Ashley Head in Block XII, Esk Survey District; thence generally northerly along the summit of the Puketeariki Range to Trig Station V, in Block VIII, Esk Survey District; at the source of the Seaward River, thence generally easterly down the middle of that river and the Hurunui River to the mean high-water mark of the sea; thence generally south-westerly along that mean high-water mark to the point of commencement.

Mr Justice Joseph Augustine ONGLEY
on his retirement as a Judge of the High Court of New Zealand on 4 November 1986.
