This Proclamation dissolving the Parliament of New Zealand, was publicly read by me, PAUL GEORGE CANHAM, a person authorised by His Excellency the Governor-General, at the Parliament House, Wellington, at 6.15 p.m. on Tuesday, 21 July 1987 in the presence of:

David Graham McGee,
Clerk of the House of Representatives.

Milton Mansfield McElroy Hollard,
Clerk Assistant of the House of Representatives.

Carol Robyn Rankin,
Serjeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives.

Authorisation for Public Reading of Proroguing and Dissolution Proclamations


I, The Most Reverend Sir Paul Alfred Reeves, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby authorise you,

Paul George Canham

to publicly read, pursuant to section 18 (3) (b) of the Constitution Act 1986, a Proclamation proroguing the Parliament of New Zealand dated 21 July 1987 and a Proclamation dissolving the Parliament of New Zealand dated 21 July 1987.
