The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification
DZ 7649 Unplasticised PVC sewer and drain pipes and fittings. $6.00

This draft Standard is a proposed revision and extension of NZS 7649:1974 Unplasticised PVC underground drain pipes and fittings. It specifies the requirements for unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (UPVC) sewer and drain pipes and fittings for sewage, stormwater and waste water applications, suitable for use below ground or above ground where not exposed to direct sunlight.

Pipes for sub-soil drainage are specified separately in NZS 7650. Pipes and fittings conforming with this standard should be used and installed only in accordance with NZS 7643.

Approval of Motor Cycle Safety Helmets in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1976

PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976* motorcycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto are hereby approved for the purposes of regulation 31 of the said regulation.

SCHEDULE
SAFETY helmets manufactured by Bieffe Helmets SRL, Italy, bearing the certification mark of the British Standards Institution BS 2495 and bearing the model designation CBK 84.

Pursuant to powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport by an instrument of delegation dated the 28th day of March 1985.

The Traffic (Bay of Islands County) Notice No. 2, 1986

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, give the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Bay of Islands County) Notice No. 2, 1986.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule is declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle thereon at any time during the period commencing with the 1st day of December in each year and ending with the Tuesday following Easter each year shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of 50 kilometres an hour fixed by the said section.

  4. The road specified in the Second Schedule is declared to be a 70 kilometres an hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, except during that period when clause 3 of this notice applies.

  5. The Traffic (Bay of Islands County) Notice No. 1, 1985, dated the 15th day of May 1985*, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 is revoked.
