Aorangi United Councilβ€”Declaration of State of Regional Civil Defence Emergency Throughout the Aorangi Region

PURSUANT to section 51 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Archibald Campbell Houstoun hereby declare a state of Regional Civil Defence Emergency to be in force in Aorangi Region.

The State of Regional Civil Defence Emergency shall come into force on the time and date of the making of this declaration.

In the Matter of the Coal Mines Act 1979, and in the matter of the death of Kenneth Colin Bullen at Stockton Opencast Mine near Westport on 19 October 1983

PURSUANT to section 181 of the Coal Mines Act 1979, the Minister of Energy has directed that a formal investigation shall be held into the accident resulting in the death of the above-named.

A public inquiry will be held at the District Court, Westport commencing 11 a.m. on Monday, 14 April 1986.

In the Matter of the Coal Mines Act 1979, and in the Matter of the Deaths of Wayne Ronald Neville, Ashley Emeural Bang, Lindsay Keily and Thomas Stephen Laird at the New Imperial Mine (Boatmans No. 4 Mine) Capleston near Reefton on 18 September 1985

PURSUANT to section 181 of the Coal Mines Act 1979, the Minister of Energy has directed that a formal investigation shall be held into the accident resulting in the deaths of the abovenamed.

A public inquiry will be held at the District Court, Westport commencing at 10 a.m. on Thursday, 17 April 1986.

Insurance Companies' Deposits Act 1953β€”Proposed Release of Deposit

MINET NEW ZEALAND LIMITED (herein called "the company"), has given notice to the District Public Trustee, that it has ceased to carry on insurance business in New Zealand and that it proposes to withdraw, pursuant to section 19 of the above-mentioned Act, the deposit which it has made with the Public Trustee.

The District Public Trustee therefore gives notice pursuant to section 19 (3) of the above-mentioned Act, that being satisfied that all liabilities of the company in New Zealand in respect of such insurance business have been fully liquidated he proposes to release to the company, on or after 28 May 1986, the amount deposited with him by the company.

Any objections to the release of the amount deposited should be lodged with the District Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office, 117-129 Lambton Quay, Wellington, on or before 21 May 1986.

Approval of Motorcycle Driving Schools

PURSUANT to section 29F (2) of the Transport Act 1962, I, Derek Ernest Homewood, Secretary for Transport, hereby approve the motorcycle driving schools listed in the Schedule hereto to the effect that they may issue certificates of driving instruction to enable a person to obtain a full licence to drive a motorcycle in accordance with regulation 33 of the Transport (Drivers Licencing) Regulations 1985.

Hawera Matchless Motorcycle Training School conducted under the auspices of the New Zealand Defensive Driving Council, Inc.

The Road Classification (National Roads Board) Notice No. 1, 1986

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (7) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974, and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, give the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (National Roads Board) Notice No. 1, 1986.

  2. It is declared, as requested by the National Roads Board, that the State highway as set out in the Schedule shall belong to the class set out in the said Schedule.

  3. So much of the notice dated the 13th day of June 1980*, which relates to the classification of the highway described in the Schedule is revoked.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, give the following notices.

NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Malvern County) Notice No. 5, 1986.

The roads specified in the Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.
