Special Condition

  1. It shall be an offence for any person to wilfully leave on the hunting ground the bodies or parts of bodies of black swan or other game shot in the Bay of Islands Acclimatisation District.

  • Grey, shoveler and mallard duck
  • Paradise shelduck
  • Pukeko
  • Black swan
  • California and brown quail and cock pheasant

Special Conditions

  1. Excepting that no temporarily moored floating stands may be used, no person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game on Lake Waikare any stand, hide, maimai or loo, which is permanently fixed to the lake bed except within 180 metres of the outer margin of the lake, or the shore-line of that island known as Motu Nui or Grape Island.

  2. No person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game on Lake Ngato whatua any fixed stand, pontoon, hide, maimai or loo, except within 85 metres of the margin of the lake.

  3. No person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game on Lake Rotokawau any fixed stand, pontoon, hide, maimai, or loo, on any open water of the lake.

  4. It shall be an offence for any person to wilfully leave on the hunting ground any game bird(s) shot or the mutilated bodies of any game bird(s).

  5. It shall be an offence for any person to herd or drive black swans for the purpose of hunting or killing them.

  6. It shall be an offence to shoot ramp from an unmoored boat on the Waikato River north of the boat ramp at the confluence of the Mangawhara Stream and the Waikato River at Taupiri on any of the first three days or the second weekend of the open season.

Open Season for Game in a Described Area of the Fifth of Thames for the 1986 Game Season

An open season for game is declared in that area of the Fifth of Thames hereinafter named the Fifth of Thames Open Game Area and being that area that is enclosed between the boundary of the Auckland Acclimatisation District and a line connecting the points on that boundary by passing through Orere Point on the west side of the Firth and the southern headland of Fantail Bay on the Coromandel Peninsula subject to the conditions specified hereto and in the First Schedule.

Conditions

  1. Game may only be hunted or killed in the Fifth of Thames Open Game Area in compliance with conditions specified for the Auckland Acclimatisation District 1986 open season for game.

  2. Any licence authorising the holder to hunt or kill game within the Auckland Acclimatisation District for the 1986 open season for game shall similarly authorise the holder to hunt or kill game in the Fifth of Thames Open Game Area.

Definition of Areas

  • Area A1:—Opotiki County, Whakatane and Rotorua Districts, those parts of Matamata and Tauranga Counties that lie within the Conservancy, and all that area of Taupo County lying north of the shores of Lake Taupo and the Napier-Taupo State Highway No. 5.

  • Area A2:—All that area of Taupo and Hawkes Bay Counties lying south-west of the Napier - Taupo State Highway No. 5.

  • Area B1:—All of the Waipu, Waikouaiti and Cook Counties.

  • Area B2:—That part of Wairoa County within the Conservancy.

  • Area C1:—That part of Taranaki County within the Conservancy.

  • Area C2:—All of Waimarino County and those parts of Waitotara, Wanganui and Rangitikei Counties within the Conservancy.
