Murupara Borough—Whakatane District Boundary Definition Notice 1986
PURSUANT to section 48 of the Local Government Act 1974, the Secretary for Local Government gives the following notice:
NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Murupara Borough—Whakatane District Boundary Definition Notice 1986.

The boundaries of Murupara Borough and Whakatane District are hereby defined as set out in the Schedules hereto, those boundaries having been altered by Order in Council published in the New Zealand Gazette, 4 July 1985, No. 128, page 2901 and which came into force on 1 July 1985.
FIRST SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF MURUPARA BOROUGH
All that area in the South Auckland Land District containing 644 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing in the middle of Whirinaki River in Block XIII, Galatea Survey District, at a point in line with the former north-western boundary of Whirinaki 1. Section 2B (M.L. Plan 10446) and proceeding southerly to and along that last-mentioned former boundary to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Whirinaki 1, Section 2, Native School Site (M.L. Plan 16150); thence east along that boundary and the southern boundaries of parts Whirinaki 1, Section 2F and Section 2F 2 and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of State Highway No. 38; thence north-westerly along the middle of that highway to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 4, D.P. S. 28038; thence south-westerly along a right line to the northernmost corner of Lot 4, D.P. S. 28038; thence north-westerly along the south-western side of State Highway No. 38 to the eastern boundary of Lot 8, D.P. S. 11090; thence southerly along that eastern boundary and north-westerly along the southern boundaries of Lots 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, D.P. S. 11090 to the eastern boundary of Lot 9, D.P. S. 11090; thence southerly along that eastern boundary and its production to the south-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. S. 24816; thence north-westerly along that south-western boundary to the easternmost corner of an unnamed public road; thence southerly along the eastern side of that road and southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 34, Block XIII, Galatea Survey District and its production to the right bank of the Rangitaiki River; thence south-westerly along a right line bearing 241° 30' to the middle of Kiorenui Road; thence northerly along the middle of Kiorenui Road and Railway Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Karatia 3B1C; thence easterly to and along that boundary as shown on M.L. 11986, and its production to the middle of the Rangitaiki River crossing the intervening Pokairoa Road; thence southerly up the middle of that river (see air photo S. No. 8165/C/3, dated 24/1/83) to the middle of the Whirinaki River; thence generally southerly up the middle of that river to the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF WHAKATANE DISTRICT
All that area in the South Auckland and Gisborne Land Districts containing 4310 square kilometres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing on the line of mean high water of the Bay of Plenty in the north-eastern corner of Waewaekhitai 1 Block, in Block IV, Waiohau Survey District, and proceeding generally south-easterly along the said mean high water line to the easternmost point of the entrance to Ohiwa Harbour, in Block VII, Whakatane Survey District; thence due south for a distance of 100.58 metres; thence due south-west to a right line from the southernmost point of Lot 1, D.P. 5. 497 (part Ohakana Island), and passing through a point 201.12 metres due north of the northernmost point of Allotment 284, Waimaona Parish (Uretara Island); thence westerly along that right line to the southernmost point of Lot 1 aforesaid; thence westerly along a right line to a point 201.17 metres due west of the northernmost point of Allotment 127, Waimaona Parish (Whitwhiti Point); thence southerly along a right line to a point, bearing 119° 28', distance 30.26 metres from peg XIII on S.O. Plan 17197; on the line of mean high water along the shore of the Ohiwa Harbour, on the eastern side of Wainui Road; thence westerly along the boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 12843, on the bearing of 299° 28', and its production to the western side of Wainui Road; thence generally south-east along the generally south-western side of Wainui Road to its intersection with the western side of No. 2 State Highway, at the northernmost corner of Allotment 183A, Waimaona Parish, situated in Block XI, Whakatane Survey District; thence southerly along the western side of No. 2 State Highway to the north-eastern corner of Allotment 185, Waimaona Parish, situated in Block XI, Whakatane Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Allotments 185, 186, 188, Part 187, Waimaona Parish, Lots 2 and 1, D.P. S. 11207, Allotments, Part 188, Parts 189, 190, Parts 191, 536, 535, Waimaona Parish to the northern corner of Lot 2, D.P. S. 17649 situated in Block XV, Whakatane Survey District; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of the said Lot 2, and the production of that boundary to the eastern side of No. 2 State Highway; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Part Allotment 195, Allotment 488, Part Allotment 195, and Part Allotment 196, Waimaona Parish, to the easternmost corner of the said Part Allotment 196; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Part Allotment 196, Part Allotment 197, Allotment 487, and Part Allotment 197, Waimaona Parish, and along a right line to the easternmost corner of that part of Allotment 197 south of No. 2 State Highway; thence generally southerly along the generally western side of No. 2 State Highway to the intersection with the production northerly of the western side of Bell Road, situated in Block IV, Waimaona Survey District; thence southerly to and along the western side of Bell Road aforesaid, to the south-easternmost corner of Allotment 223, Waimaona Parish, as shown on D.P. 4734; thence easterly along a right line across Bell Road to and along the northern boundaries of Lot 3, D.P. 9715, and Lot 1, D.P. S. 3146 to the western side of a public road; thence southeasterly along a right line to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 4, 5, and 3, D.P. S. 3146 to the easternmost corner of the said Lot 3; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of the said Lot 3, Section 3, Block IV, Waimaona Survey District, Waimana 1C1B, crossing a public road, Waimana 1C1C2, 1C1C3.
