Burma Road, thence generally northerly along that Road, Haumia Road, Bannister Avenue, Broderick Road and Old Coach Road to a point approximately 1 kilometer along the last mentioned road, thence southwesterly to and generally southerly along the west boundary of the Otari Ward of Wellington City to and southerly along the east boundary of the Karori Ward of Wellington City to the mean high water mark, thence generally westerly and northerly along that water mark to its intersection with the southern boundary of the proposed Porirua Electoral District, thence south easterly along that boundary and southerly along the western boundary of the proposed Western Hutt Electoral District to the mean high water mark, thence southerly along the mean high water mark to the point of commencement.
WELLINGTON CENTRAL
Population: 33 031 Classification: Group A
Commençing at the intersection of the mean high water mark and the extension of Hay Street in Oriental Bay and proceeding generally westerly along Oriental Parade and south easterly to the corner of Palliser Road and Hawker Street, thence generally southerly along Hawker Street, Majoribanks Street, Brougham Street and Pirie Street to the southern boundary of the existing Wellington Central Electoral District, as defined by NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424, thence westerly along that boundary to and generally northerly and easterly along the east boundary of the proposed Ohariu Electoral District to the mean high water mark in Wellington Harbour at Ngauranga Station, thence southerly along the mean high water mark to the point of commencement including Somes Island.
ISLAND BAY
Population: 33 389 Classification: Group A
The existing Island Bay Electoral District as defined by NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424 and including that portion on its northern boundary bounded by Alexandra Road, Elizabeth Street, Brougham Street, Pirie Street, Kent Terrace, Ellice Street, Dufferin Street and Mt Victoria Tunnel and that portion in the south western corner bounded by mean high water mark, the western boundary of the Karori Ward at Wellington City and western boundary of the existing Island Bay Electoral District.
MIRAMAR
Population: 33 182 Classification: Group A
Commençing at the mean high water mark in Oriental Bay and proceeding generally southerly along the proposed boundary of Wellington Central Electoral District to its intersection with Elizabeth Street, thence easterly along that street and its extension to the existing boundary of the Miramar Electoral District as defined by NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424, thence generally southerly, easterly northerly and westerly along that boundary to its point of commencement.
WAIRARAPA
Population: 33 940 Classification: Group D
The existing Wairarapa Electoral District as defined by NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424.
NELSON
Population: 32 707 Classification: Group A
Comprises the existing Nelson Electoral District, NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424.
TASMAN
Population: 33 266 Classification: Group D
Commençes at Pukerau Point on the shoreline of Tasman Bay and proceeds south along the east boundary of the Waimea County to and along the existing Tasman electoral boundary, NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424, to its intersection with the mountain range east of Glenroy River; thence northerly along that range across the Matakiki River and continuing to and along the south west boundary the Murchison North Riding to the existing electoral boundary; thence following that boundary to the point of commencement but excluding the proposed electorate of Nelson.
WEST COAST
Population: 33 031 Classification: Group D
The boundary follows that of the existing Electoral District, NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424, except for that part of the Murchison South Riding in the proposed Tasman Electoral District as described above.
MARLBOROUGH
Population: 32 857 Classification: Group D
Commençing at the mouth of the Clarence River and proceeding up that river to the existing Marlborough Electoral boundary, NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424, thence following that boundary to its intersection with the south eastern boundary of the proposed Tasman Electoral District; thence north easterly along that boundary to the mean high water mark in Tasman Bay, then following that water mark easterly and southerly to the Clarence River mouth and including the islands of the Marlborough Sounds.
NORTH CANTERBURY
Population: 33 591 Classification: Group D
Commençing at the mouth of the Waimakariri River and proceeding up that river to the northern boundary of Eyre County and following that boundary westward to Eyre River; thence up that river to and south west along State Highway 72, McPhedrons Road, Watsons Reserve Road and State Highway 72 to the existing Rangiora Electoral District boundary, NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424; thence northerly along that boundary to the western boundary of the proposed Marlborough Electoral District; thence southerly and easterly along that boundary to the mean high water mark; thence south along that water mark to the point of commencement.
CHRISTCHURCH NORTH
Population: 33 722 Classification: Group A
Commençing at the mouth of the Waimakariri River thence southerly along the existing boundary of Christchurch North Electoral District, NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424, to the east boundary of the Papanui Riding of the Waimairi District then proceeds south along that boundary to and westerly along the south boundary of the Waimairi District, the existing electoral district boundary to Charlcott Street, south west along that street, Kendal Avenue, Hartford Street, Arlington Street, Kendal Avenue, Memorial Avenue and Russley Road to and along the southern boundary of the Belfast Riding to the middle of the Waimakariri River; thence east along that river to the point of commencement.
YALDHURST
Population: 33 355 Classification: Group A
Commençed at the western corner of the existing Yaldhurst Electoral District, NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424, and proceeds north east along the boundary of that district to and along the proposed western and southern boundaries of Christchurch North Electoral District and south along the boundary of the existing Fendalton Electoral District, NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424, to and along the south east boundary of Sockburn Riding of the Paparua County and Awatea Road, to the existing south boundary of Yaldhurst Electoral District thence following that boundary to the point of commencement.
ST ALBANS
Population: 33 453 Classification: Group A
Commençes at the intersection of Inwoods Road and Rotheray Road and proceeds south along Inwoods Road and Mairehau Road to the existing boundary of St Albans Electoral District, NZ Gazette 1983 p 1424; thence south along that boundary, to and along the middle of the Avon River, to and west along the existing boundary of that district to and along Springfield Road, Holly Road and Papanui Road to the proposed boundary of the Christchurch North Electoral District; thence generally easterly along that boundary to the point of commencement.
