PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment is being circulated.

DZ 8407/A1 Draft Amendment No. 1 to NZS 8407 Canned sliced kiwifruit. Gratis

Due to EEC regulations, can dimensions have been changed by some manufacturers to a new metric size. To allow the fruit to fit into the smaller can it is proposed that the minimum drained weight should be increased.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification
DZ 4442 Specification for welded steel pipes and fittings for water, sewage, and medium pressure gas. $7.50

This draft is a revision of NZS 4442: 1978 Specification for welded steel pipes and fittings for water, sewage, and medium pressure gas. It applies to welded steel pipes and fittings with butt welded seams in sizes of 100 mm to 1016 mm intended primarily for the conveyance of water, sewage, and medium pressure gas. The high density polyethylene and coal tar enamel coatings specified in this Standard are most suitable for pipes buried underground.

The revision incorporates provisions for the use of high density polyethylene for the external coating of steel pipes and the application of concrete lining to the internal surfaces of steel pipes by tap (mechanical) spinning head method. It also updates references to related documents. Outside diameters are listed in two alternative groups. Also set out are requirements for certain fittings commonly used in mains and branch mains and fire hydrant installations.

DZ 3501/A2 Draft Amendment No. 2 to NZS 3501:1976 Specification for copper tubes for water, gas and sanitation. Gratis

This draft amendment revises the marking requirements such that tubes of 32 mm and 40 mm nominal bore must be permanently marked at intervals along their length. An option for this type of marking is also introduced for larger diameter tubes.
