Contingency Plans for Petrol Rationing

Pursuant to section 269D (2) of the Local Government Act 1974 (as enacted by the Local Government Amendment Act 1983), I, Robert James Tizard, Minister of Energy, hereby give notice:

Whereas by Gazette notice dated 27 September 1984, the Minister of Energy required all United Councils to prepare and submit a petroleum products rationing organisation plan under section 269D (1) by the 1st day of December 1984.

And whereas that date has been extended from time to time in respect of certain of those councils, the last such extension expiring on the 30th day of September 1985 as notified in Gazette notice dated 27 June 1985:*

I hereby further extend the time within which the following United Council is required to prepare and submit a petroleum products rationing organisation plan from the 30th day of September 1985 to the 31 December 1985.

The Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1908

PURSUANT to section 2 of the Industrial and Provident Societies Amendment Act 1923 (as amended by section 2 (1) of the Industrial and Provident Societies Amendment Act 1977) the Minister of Justice hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Industrial and Provident Societies (Amount of Shares) Notice 1985 (No. 2).

  2. The amount of $5,000,000 is hereby specified in respect of the society in the Schedule of this notice, being the amount in excess of which no member of the society shall have or claim any interest in the shares of the society.

The Traffic (Thames Coromandel District) Notice No. 1, 1985

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, Carme Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, give the following notice:

NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Thames Coromandel District) Notice No. 1, 1985.

The roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

The Traffic (Thames Coromandel District—Urban Division) Notice No. 3, 1975 dated the 22nd day of October 1975*, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956 is revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Situated within Thames Coromandel District at Thames and Tararu:

All that area, with the exception of the No. 25 State Highway (Waitakaruru to Waihi via Coromandel) from Burke Street to a point due west of the northern boundary of the Tararu Cemetery, bounded by a line commencing at a point where the eastern side of the No. 25 State Highway (Waitakaruru to Waihi via Coromandel) crosses the northern bank of the Kauaeranga River; thence north-westerly, generally, along the northern bank of the said river to the mouth of the Kauaeranga River; thence north-westerly, generally, along the shoreline of the Firth of Thames to a point due west of the northern boundary of the Tararu Cemetery; thence due east by a right line for a distance of 2000 metres; thence south-easterly, generally, by a right line to a point on the northern side of Kauaeranga Valley Road, 1000 metres measured easterly, generally, along Kauaeranga Valley Road from Abingdon Road; thence due south by a right line to the northern bank of the Kauaeranga River; thence westerly, generally, along the said bank of the said river to the commencing point.

Situated within Thames Coromandel District at Totara:

Debbie Road.
Laurie Avenue.
Maramarahi Road: from No. 25 State Highway (Waitakaruru to Waihi via Coromandel) to a point 300 metres measured easterly, generally, along the said road from the said State highway.

SECOND SCHEDULE

Situated within Thames Coromandel District at Thames and Tararu:

No. 25 State Highway (Waitakaruru to Waihi via Coromandel): from a point 120 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said State highway from Tararu Creek Road to Burke Street.

Situated within Thames Coromandel District at Totara:

No. 25 State Highway (Waitakaruru to Waihi via Coromandel): from a point where the said State highway crosses the northern bank of the Kauaeranga River, thence southerly, generally, along the said State highway to Totara Cemetery Road.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

PURSUANT to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that supplementary integration agreements have been signed between the Minister of Education and the proprietors of the following 2 schools:

St Peter Chanel School, Otaki.
St Bernard’s College, Lower Hutt.

The said supplementary integration agreements come into effect on 3 September 1985 and 9 September 1985 respectively. Copies of the supplementary integration agreements are available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the Department of Education, Head Office, National Mutual Building, Featherston Street, Wellington, and at regional offices.

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendments are being circulated:

DZ 7202: Part 1/A Draft Amendment A to BS 1204: Part 1:1979 Specification for gap-filling adhesives. Gratis.
DZ 7202: Part 2/A Draft Amendment A to BS 1204: Part 2: 1979 Specification for close-contact adhesives. Gratis.

These draft amendments propose the declaration of BS 1203:1979 and BS 1204:Parts 1 and 2:1979 as New Zealand Standards with amendment to provide for the use of silver beech (Nothofagus menziesii) as an alternative to European beech (Fagus sylvatica) for test purposes.
