The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification
DZ 3124/1 Specification for concrete construction for works not requiring specific design. $10.00.

This draft is based on NZS 3109 Concrete construction. It has been prepared in response to requests for a more simple document than NZS 3109 that can be used for minor construction works and which can be referenced in the means of compliance Standards to NZS 1900 New Zealand Model Building Bylaw: Chapter 6 Construction requirements for buildings not requiring specific design, including lintel beams detailed in NZS 4229.

The production of concrete complying with either NZS 3104 or NZS 3108 ensures compliance with the relevant requirements for supply of fresh concrete given in this document.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Amendment Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification
DZ 4711/A1 Draft Amendment No.1 to NZS 4711:1984 Qualification tests for metal-arc welders. Gratis.

The main object of this amendment is to remove the sequential qualification requirement for the plate tests.

The amendment also removes the provision for exemption from a plate test in the flat position where a current qualification in the horizontal-vertical position was held.

The retest clause (207.1) has also been amended to clarify the intention.

All persons who may be affected by this publication and who desire to comment thereon may obtain copies from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Wellington Trade Centre, 15–23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.
