Land and Broadcasting Notices

2914 THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE No. 128

The BCNZ has applied for an amendment to the warrant for 3ZA in relation to the relay station to increase the power from 100 watts to 200 watts.

The existing transmitter is now obsolete and a new 200 watt transmitter constructed by the BCNZ is to replace it.

The more powerful transmitter will increase the field of strength by 3dB nearly one and half times the existing field strength. It will extend the coverage area to add approximately 100 people to the existing population of 141S.

Having considered the evidence of W. J. W. Allan, Divisional Engineer, Radio Transmission, the Tribunal is satisfied that the replacement transmitter proposed will result in an improvement in the service to the area and that it is in the public interest that the amendment be approved.

The amendment will come into effect on a date to coincide with the commissioning of the new transmitter. The Registrar should be advised of that date by the applicant.

Dated the 25th day of June 1985.

Signed for the Tribunal:

B. H. SLANE, Chairman.
