Certain Roman Catholic Secondary Schools in the Archdiocese of Wellington and the Diocese of Palmerston North (Attendance Dues) Notice 1985

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice approving the charging of attendance dues at 17 Roman Catholic secondary schools within the Archdiocese of Wellington and the Diocese of Palmerston North.

This notice supersedes all previous notices establishing attendance dues in these 17 Roman Catholic secondary schools within the Archdiocese of Wellington and the Diocese of Palmerston North.

NOTICE

  1. This notice shall be cited as the Certain Roman Catholic Secondary Schools in the Archdiocese of Wellington and the Diocese of Palmerston North (Attendance Dues) Notice 1985 and shall come into force on the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. The proprietors of the following secondary schools may enter into agreement with parents or other persons accepting responsibility for the education of a child at the schools requiring them to pay attendance dues at the per annum rates listed:

Hato Paora College, Feilding, $240.
St Joseph’s Maori Girls College, Greenmeadows, $240.
St John’s College, Hastings, $240.
Sacred Heart College, Napier, $240.
Francis Douglas Memorial College, New Plymouth, $290.
Sacred Heart College, New Plymouth, $240.
St Peter’s College, Palmerston North, $240.
St Augustine’s College, Wanganui, $240.
Sacred Heart College, Wanganui, $240.
St Bernard’s College, Lower Hutt, $240.
Sacred Heart College, Lower Hutt, $255.
Chanel College, Masterton, $240.
Vincent College, Porirua, $240.
St Patrick’s College, Silverstream, $315.
St Catherine’s College, Kilbirnie, $240.
St Patrick’s College, Wellington, $300.
St Mary’s College, Thorndon, $240.

  1. Attendance dues received by the proprietors shall be used for the purpose of paying for such improvements to, or for such capital works associated with, the buildings and associated facilities of the above-mentioned integrated schools as may be required or approved by the Minister of Education pursuant to section 40(2) of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, or for meeting debts, mortgages, liens or other charges associated with any of the land and buildings that constitute the integrated schools.

Declaration of Vehicle with Motor Cycle Controls to be a Motorcycle

PURSUANT to section 2(1) of the Transport Act 1962, the Secretary for Transport hereby declares that the vehicle described in the Schedule attached hereto is a motorcycle for the purposes of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

The 3-wheeled vehicle with motorcycle controls and a 650 cc Yamaha engine bearing the number 477-219399 and built during 1984 and 1985 by B. D. Kemp of Dunedin.

By-law Prohibiting the Use of Certain Vehicles on That Portion of No. 5 State Highway Known as Pohokura Road Which Bypasses the Rununga Deviation

PURSUANT to the National Roads Act 1953 (section 13) and the Transport Act 1962 (section 72 (1) (i)), the National Roads Board hereby makes the following by-law:

By-Law

  1. This by-law may be cited as the National Roads Board By-law 1985/1.

  2. This by-law shall come into force on the day after its publication in the Gazette.

  3. This by-law shall apply to that portion of No. 5 State Highway known as Pohokura Road which bypasses Rununga Deviation (approximately 4 km west of Tarawera).

  4. No person shall drive take or operate or permit to be driven taken or operated on the portion of highway above described any heavy vehicle or any vehicle towing another vehicle, trailer, or caravan, without the written consent of the District Commissioner of Works, Ministry of Works and Development, Napier.

  5. Every person who commits an offence against this by-law is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $200 (two hundred dollars).

This by-law was made by resolution duly passed at a meeting of the National Roads Board held in Wellington on the 24th day of April 1985.
