The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specifications Available for Comment
Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specifications are being circulated.
Number and Title of Specification
DZ 5228 Code of practice for production and use of biogas, farm scale operation.
The objective of this draft code is to provide information for the planning, design, and construction of a farm scale biogas plant and to assist in safe and efficient operation of the plant.
Part 1: Production of biogas. $15.00
Describes a method by which advantage may be taken of certain microbial transformations, collectively referred to as anaerobic digestion, whereby organic matter is degraded in the absence of air to a variety of products, and in particular, biogas.
Based on experience from the operation of existing farm biogas plants; and on the demonstration project operated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries at the Invermay Agricultural Research Centre, which comprises feedstock preparation, anaerobic digestion, gas scrubbing and storage, and utilisation of the gas in motor vehicles as a CNG substitute.
Part 2: Uses of biogas. $10.00
Provides information on utilisation of the biogas produced by the plant.

Pursuant to section 31 (5) of the Statistics Act 1975, notice is given that a Census of Local Authorities (1984–1985), which has been approved by the Minister of Statistics, is being undertaken by the Department of Statistics.

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment is being circulated.

DZ 6300/A2 Draft Amendment No. 2 to NZS 6300:1980 (AS 3300:1978). Specification for general requirements for household and similar electrical appliances. $10.00
NZS 6300:1980 is to be replaced by adopting the latest international standard IEC 335... The changed or added technical content is now being issued by SANZ in the form of a draft amendment (No. 2) to NZS 6300: DZ 6300/A2.
Holders of NZS 6300 and other persons who wish to comment on the changes may obtain copies from SANZ.
When approved, the amendment will not be published as such but will be absorbed in a new edition of NZS 6300.
